I love Charlie Richards Shifter / Paranormal books, but I am finding them highly addictive. I am new to this set so have read a lot of the books this week (I'm on holiday and stuck in the house! gee what a Shame)

Sebastian has featured as a character in several of the books and meeting his Beloved fits in nicely with the series story arc and stays within Charlie Richards's usual formula.... Meet beloved / mate, have misunderstanding, make up, have confrontation, win, live happily ever after.

The reason people have formulas they stick to is because on the whole they work well... now I have to go find Deke's book.... ADDICTIVE

5.0 out of 5 stars This one, like the first ones, has some meat 12 Nov. 2013

Seb FINALLY meets his mate!!! This is a great addition to the Stone Ridge Wolves series, even though Seb isn't a wolf. There are appearances by 3 stone ridge wolves and a future couple is set up. Seb's human mate is just adorable, but I like geeks. Like all the other mates, he needs to be handled with care as he's been through some things that make him hesitant, distrustful and jumpy. But Seb wants his mate, so he's going to stop at nothing to get him man. This story has tenderness, fun, drama, angst and action. Plus, let's not forget the hot sex with the biting. My only issue, which mysteriously appeared in Second Chance to Mate, is a blank page between chapters. It looks like Ms. Richards put in an extra page break while writing and it didn't come out before publication. I recommend fixing this fast because I can see it becoming too annoying. Overall, Seb's story is written more like the first books in the series, and I love those, so it's a great addition to a, fundamentally, great series.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmmmm.... 12 Dec. 2013

Ok. I had a hard time with this book. I've liked most of the Stone Ridge books, but this one I have an issue with. I liked the basic story, Sebastian the vampire meets his human mate, Dirk. Drama ensues, we learn that Dirk has had issues with shifters in the past, and Sebastian helps deal with it. My issue is with the way his past comes back. Unless I missed something, a random guy on a plane that Dirk irritates some how gets in contact with, or is contacted by, the shifter that abused Dirk on the other side of the country, and some time in the past. I don't understand how this happened. I totally lost the story at that point.

I also don't understand why it's called THE Comicon. I've always heard it referred to as just Comicon. As in "I'm going to Comicon." Not "I'm going to the Comicon."

Anyway, not a bad story until the big huge plot issue.
5.0 out of 5 stars "Crashing the Comicon enchants. ...." 19 July 2014

When the Vampire Council dispatches Sebastian ‘Seb’ Russo to Stone Ridge, Colorado to facilitate a meeting between shifters and the human government the usual private jet is unavailable, so the vampire is forced to take a commercial flight instead.

What seems an inconvenience at first becomes good fortune when Seb realizes his beloved or soul mate is also on board the flight. His duty will be delayed as the vampire trails his beloved to Las Vegas where the human is attending a major Comicon.

If not for his boss’ insistence Dirk would not be part of a panel discussing comic art and design at the show. The only bright spot within the hated crowds and chaos is meeting Seb who intrigues and charms the shy geek. Everything is going great until Seb uses words like ‘mate’ which immediately terrifies Dirk. A recent horrific experience with shifters was enough to last the human for a lifetime. Seb has his work cut out convincing Dirk that the paranormal world is more good that evil.

Crashing the Comicon enchants. Smooth talking Seb is nonetheless an honorable vampire while Dirk is a sweetheart haunted by his past. Their initial stirrings of love eventually generate lots and lots of wonderful heat. Once again these characters prove that communication is what matters most. Seb and Dirk are dynamite together. Enjoy the twists and turns in the storyline of Crashing the Comicon, though as ever it is the characters here who will stay with you.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Vampire Woos His Mate at the ComiCon 16 Dec. 2013
By Sophia Rose - Published on Amazon.com

I always love seeing the vampires make an appearance in the series and Seb was no exception. He is sexy, sensual, fun-loving and so eager to find his beloved that he makes it easy to like him and his story. Dirk? Now he was a bit of a push for me. I got the reason his character was the way it was. He had experienced something truly horrific that truthfully I can't believe he handled things as well as he did. That being said, after he got with Sebastian, I didn't feel much spark. Heat yes; spark no. I can believe that he felt safe and he felt desired, but I think he is one of those characters because of his past that doesn't make a believable insta-mate type.

That being said, I enjoyed the fun and different backdrop for this story there at the ComiCon and visiting all the fun places and restaurants in Vegas. I loved meeting up with old friends- Cass and Casie, Vince and Frankie, Manion and Chris and Lex was fun too.

Though not one of my favorite stories, this still was an enjoyable read.
4.0 out of 5 stars Love this series 10 Feb. 2014

What do you get when you mix Fate in with a geeky comic artist and the paranormal? Absolutely the perfect mix. I love this series and was so excited for this book. The characters as always were well written and the storyline moved along very quickly. You see some of the secondary characters from the series, which is always fun to see, and of course smokin' scenes with the heroes.
