We wanted this lovely story because we had read it before. Our 4 year old grand-daughter enjoyed listening to the story. The illustrations were bright and attractive and prompted a lot of questions. The book was then used in Primary School by my daughter who teaches 8-9 year old children. There was plenty of stimulus for children with different levels of language experience. Many were able to read the book for themselves. Knowledge and further interest in African animals was enhanced.

My class really loved this book and it became a popular "reader" for the children in their "personal reading time." The illustrations are beautiful and the use of bold print to put the emphasis on the action word at the end of each page was really effective. A story to be read and reread.

My sons have enjoyed this book from about the age of three. I have enjoyed reading it because of the gorgeous illustrations that remind me of batik, and I have found that the words roll off the tounge in a satisfying way. Highly recommended!
