I really enjoyed this book, particularly information on the pod systems of building teams. I think it was a little "cheesy" in places, but was a good read overall.

5.0 out of 5 stars Remember When the USA Won the Ryder Cup 23 Feb. 2015
By Laurence A. Huston - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This is an old book now, but as much as I love Tom Watson, I wish he would have read it before the last Ryder Cup. Every future Ryder Cup Captain should be required to read this book and pass a test on it before beginning his Captaincy. There is a code, and Zinger cracked it.

This is a good read for any golf fan. It is especially good if you are a Ryder Cup Fan. And, if you believe as I do that the Ryder Cup is the most fun to watch in golf, this is a great read.

But more than that, this is a business model that every small or medium businessman should pay attention to. If you want to beat your competition, here is the road map that by following, you reach the destination you really want to get to.
5.0 out of 5 stars Displays great elements of leadership 30 Oct. 2014

Displays great elements of leadership. Examples of sacrifice for the benefit of the team, obtaining buy in from the workers, and understanding what motivates each individual. It's a quick read and I found it engaging.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book. 15 May 2013

Excellent book. Shows the power of "pod training" used by the Navy Seals and how this focused training strategy built cameradie, teamwork and strong results to help the US reclaim the Ryder Cup.

Pretty good. I didn't learn anything I hadn't already heard from others talking about the book. It's pretty short too. Not a lot of content.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating strategy 17 Aug. 2010
By Mickey in Austin - Published on Amazon.com

I'm amazed that Paul Azinger's unique strategy for choosing and managing the 2008 Ryder Cup team didn't get a ton of publicity right after the matches. It's fascinating stuff! Very timely now that the Ryder Cup is approaching again. A quick and easy read. I normally buy used paperbacks, but this was well worth the extra money.
