5.0 out of 5 stars Count the Roses is another Winner! 8 Jun. 2016

I am a huge fan of Jackie Weger's books, so I was excited to dive into her newest, Count the Roses..and then I couldn't stop reading until I finished.

I've been to New Orleans, but never having visited the bayou country, I was enchanted with the descriptions of the locale and the people who inhabit this interesting area.

As for the main characters, Jennifer and Aiden are not glamorous jet-setters, they're complex people with hurts they're working to overcome and the author does a great job developing not only the main characters, but also the secondary ones as well. I laughed, cried, and enjoyed every minute of this read. This is the kind of book that lives with you long after your finished reading. Five stars all the way

5.0 out of 5 stars A joy to read! 12 Jun. 2016

Jackie Weger paints pictures with words. Her descriptive talents take the reader emotionally inside her stories, and I never have read a bad book that had her name attached. Count the Roses is a lovely story about a woman trying to untie her overly possessive mother's apron strings and a Cajun farmer who is looking for someone to make a home out of the plantation he inherited. The well written story takes place in New Orleans and the plantation on the bayou. The reader is drawn in by sights and smells to such an extent that her settings become real and vibrant. This is a sweet, clean romance with a little angst thrown in, but nothing that turns the joy of turning pages off. Highly recommend!

2.0 out of 5 stars Too many details 11 Nov. 2016
By Galaxis - Published on Amazon.com

The book had so many details that the story would get lost at times. This made me put down the book and I didn't really care if I finished it or not. The author needs to find a way to make his/her points without boring the reader. It would then be worth reading.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good over all theme bad execution 18 Nov. 2016

I love books that have Cajun settings. That being said , it's a good thing o have read and know enough about Cajun customs to understand this book. If a new reader was not familiar with Cajun terms they would be lost reading this. Little description is offered for the terms.
The overall story had a lot of potential however the relationship between the main characters was not well developed . I'm not real sure how they got from the fussing to the bedroom anytime they communicated it was with sarcasm. Over all I felt the idea for the story was there but it was just thrown together.

3.0 out of 5 stars In my opinión, it is the típical romantic novel ... 9 Nov. 2016

In my opinión, it is the típical romantic novel. I hope the descripción of the "cajun" culture be close to the reality because the description of the "colombian" character is deplorable.
