One of the greatest tales of all time, even now the writing stands up (translations obviously matter). This is the only book I recommend to anyone who asks me for a book to read. Whereas Lord of the Rings is my favourite book, this is much more universal, timeless and accessible to modern readers.

Still ready it! I had seen the movie years ago and loved it. The book is so much better.
Could never have comprehended how great this book is. Seen the movies many times but this is so historicallly rich. Fantastic.
Longest book ever but I am pleaded I stuck with it. Has some surprisingly modern themes. But so many pages...
Easy to award this masterpiece five stars... Best thing I've read, ever. Alexandre Dumas writes sheer poetry and pulls beauty and darkness from every aspect of life.Read more
