Looking for an energy or time saving device? This 24 hour programmable timer is, in my opinion, worth its weight in gold. It adds to that feeling of security when away from the home. Unlike most timer switches you find for sale this one also as an indicator light which will allow you to see when the switch is off at a glance, handy for heating etc. Use the Energy Timer Switch to control any electrical products within your house except washing machines. Its uses are endless with an extremely simple design; perhaps you want the kettle boiled when you get up in the morning or save money by cutting the power to your TV set during the early hours of the morning?
This Plug-In timer switches have been specifically designed to bring automatic time control of economy, security, and comfort in domestic and commercial environments. The switching can be used with a wide range of electrical appliances around the home or to protect your property when you are out by switching on a light after dark.
Simply select the times that you want the light, music, etc, to come on and go off in the night by depressing the pins next to the associated time on the dial. Line up the current time with the arrow on the centre place. Check that your lamp is on and then plug it all together (make sure the switch on the wall where you have plugged it in is switched on and away you go. Each segment runs for 15 minutes and allows you to set the timer for different times during the day/night and for different lengths of time. There is a by-pass button on the side of the module which allows you to use your lamp, CD player, etc, without having to plug it in elsewhere.
Not recommended for products with motors (Washing Machines, Dish Washers or Immersion Heaters etc.

It really is easy to use. First, you simply turn the outer ring clockwise untill the current time aligns with the small white pointer. (which is to the right hand side of the earth pin) The hours go 01 to 24 and are in 15 minute segments. You then set your Start and Finishing times by pressing in the blue 15 minute segments between each one. You can have numerous settings within the 24hr cycle. These will then be repeated automatically every day untill you alter or unplug it.
IMPORTANT!! Once you have done this, plug your light/device into the timer. Plug the timer into the socket, ensuring that it is switched on, and push the blue side switch DOWN into the CLOCK position It's as easy as that!
You can override the timer by sliding the blue side switch UP to the "I" position. In this position your light or device will stay on.
NOTEBOOK. By pushing the blue switch up into the "I" position as instructed by the manufacturer, you are in fact overriding the timer. I wonder if this was a mistake that has been made in translation?
There are, of course, many wall plug timers to choose from. The main attraction to this one was that it wasn't "tall" with displays and other gadgetry getting in the way of the plug. I wanted something simple and that's exactly what I got.
The device itself looks kind of cheap and flimsy but actually doesn't feel it at all. It has a reasonable amount of weight to it and feels of good quality. It works by you first manually setting the current time via rotating the blue dial so that the arrow at the top right corner of the white timer socket itself points to the correct time. This is split into 15 minute segments so for best and accurate results you have to do it either on the hour or at a 15 minute interval. The blue outer ring of this device actually consists of what I can only describe as pins, which can be pushed in/depressed, or pulled up. To set the timer hours you need to depress the pins around the dial between the hours you wish for the plug to activate. For example, if you want a device on between 9am and 5pm you need to ensure that all the blue pins between 09 and 17 on the dial are depressed/pressed in, and all the remaining pins are pulled up/not depressed. Again, the blue pins are configurable in 15 minute segments. If you need a more advanced timer that can work down to an individual minute, this is not the product for you.
The device works perfectly and is, at least for me, silent or at least quiet enough that I can't hear it progressing.Read more ›
A couple of points though. This timer takes up slightly more than its fair share of socket space. It's sometimes difficult to get another plug in beside it. Ok with switched sockets, however. There is a blue switch on the side of the unit and this switch looks very flimsy indeed. Not even sure why it is there - if you don't want something timed, why use a timer? I set the switch to activate the timer and then put gaffer tape over the switch If I thought the until could stand it, I would have just cut the switch off entirely.

I found the tabs fiddly (stiff to move) and it didn't last long, about a year. Would never buy again!Published 4 months ago by PhillyJQ

Started OK and kept good time, after three weeks it lost so much time that it became useless. Bought alternative from Morrisons which has been perfect.Published 5 months ago by MacS
