In my opinion this is a pretty good but overpriced high chair. The basics - yes, our child is safely strapped in, and the closing mechanism feels secure (although it's very easy to slip off the shoulder straps, the waist/crotch belt keeps them in place and isn't really possible to wriggle out of). The minuses are about the construction, and whether that's worth the price. The tray is fiddly to put on, it doesn't slide on smoothly and needs to be jiggled while taking care not to trap the baby's fingers - I swear at it in my head every time (and now 10 months later the right side is really sticking when I slide it in). It would also have been good to have a higher barrier on the sides of the tray because the baby often easily swipes finger food off the sides and on the floor. The whole chair slides very easily on carpet and laminate - I am very surprised why no rubber feet are included. The legs lock fine but have a slightly rickety feel when you jiggle them. The material is wipeable, but also really absorbs food colours, e.g. red berries - 10 months on, ours has brown stains all over it and looks like Father Jack's chair, from Father Ted.... And overall the construction, and adjustment of seat and foot rest tilt, definitely have a creaky and plastic-y FEEL, which is why my wife and I felt on putting it together that nearly £130 was way too expensive, whimsical seat patterns or not. The seat works, don't get me wrong. But if I'd paid £60-70 for it I'd be happy. As it is, I would not really recommend it over others. It's not THE seat that some make it out to be.
1) how cushioned the seat is
2) you can put the table on the back of the chair for storage
3) it stands when closed
I didn’t like:
1) the chair doesn’t recline enough
2) the straps need to be together to click on the belt
3) one of the clicks of the top table broke on the same day it was assemble
4) dirt gets stuck on the sides of the table
5) how you store that table is not easy to handle with one hand (let’s remember mums are always handling a child on the other hand!)
6) to insert the table on the chair is not easy with one hand, it always get stuck as soon as you try to insert it.
Wife said it was very easy to put it together. Quite bulky to store but is a sturdy product so can't complain.
Pattern is cute and girly without being OTT. Tray comes off easily for cleaning.
You can get similar highchairs from lesser known brands for around £50 but the patterns aren't as nice.
All in all, happy with it.
