I really needed a new power supply for my home built PC. Went with the 750W CS750M ATX/EPS Semi-Modular 80 Plus Gold Power Supply Unit. Very happy with power supply it's quite & delivers the current and seems a quality item. The bundled modular cables are awful. If you want your SATA connectors daisy chained together like IDE connectors on a ribbon cable you'll be happy. I don't and I'm back to using SATA power splitters to connect my items.
The cables are also VERY stiff. It makes them very difficult to manipulate around the case. My graphics card requires two 12v cables. The cables press right up against the side panel and make it difficult to close and put back pressure on the card.
I would prefer malleable cables and fix them in place with cable ties.
Conclusion very good power supply - very poor cables.

17/07/2014 Having used the power supply for over a week now the units fan is way to noisey. I'm very aware of it all the time.

I would not purchase this design again.

Knowing Corsair, and the fact that this PSU is a "gold rated" PSU, I am sorry to say that its not worth a single penny. It powers the system as it should, but my problem here is the noise. Everyone else that has mentioned the noise is completely right! it sounds like a drill and is as loud as a hover. At first I thought this product was dangerously faulty from what I heard, but after amazons brilliant customer service I received a replacement which I believed would work fine. My thoughts were wrong. Again the power supply did the same noises, but louder. Unbelievable from corsair in my opinion, for a gold rated CM power supply to make enough noise for it to be heard throughout my house is not acceptable. If you read this PLEASE do not go through with the purchase! I have had two reviews from friends who have used the CX750M power supply and it works like a charm. If you will go for anything go for that, I do not intend to drive people away from corsair, but corsair have yet to solve this ongoing issue with so many of their CS750M power supplies that are being sold today.

Thanks amazon, and thank you corsair for wasting £80 of my money.

The actual PSU itself is very good, what gets my goat is the rigid modular connectors you get with this unit. They are extremely rigid for something that needs to bend and twist and cause me no end of pain trying to do some half decent cable management behind the MB.

Another issue that really irked me was the length of the cables and the fact you couldn't choose any size to fit, everything was the same length with all the connections daisychained to each cable. I only needed one molex to power a Hotswap bay but had to use a 4 connection cable just to access that one Molex, I now have the other 3 lying useless in my case disrupting airflow and annoying me something terrible.

Anyway, it does what it says on the tin, its a decent enough PSU and will easily power your i5 or i7 gaming rig with all the extras, just be prepared for a fight on the cable management side of things....

After just four months of using it, I noticed a very loud sound coming from the unit; it was so unbearable I didn't even bother using my PC. Disgusting considering the price and how it is meant to be gold certified, with three years warranty I would have to pay around £30 just to send it back to Corsair which is ridiculous when it is a faulty unity.

It must be that the fan controller is defective and makes it spin erratically even when idle.

Please avoid this product, it is expensive and I would expect more from something that costs a lot also that is gold certified.

After a few other PSUs failed on me I used a good quality Corsiar for my upgrade.
It has been faultless. Lasted longer than any other PSU so far and building was much easier.
The modular construction was simple enough and the cables are long enough to fit without have to stretch them or take short cuts.

This PSU has both good reviews and bad reviews. I wanted a semi modular design to avoid ugly unwanted cables. This PSU is Gold Standard which means it is efficient and the noise rating is 32db at 300 watts which is think compares well with other alternatives at the same price. Of all my components this is the noisiest, but the noise is only faintly heard if I remove the side panels from the case. Paying more for a quieter PSU would be pointless. The cables supplied are not very supple but I was able to build a neat installation

Semi modular PSUs are great, but this one has very fat cables that are difficult to keep tidy. We also ended up having to plug all the cables in anyway, since the supplied sata connectors are on two cables each with three connectors, which are too close together to power both a hard drive at the bottom of a midi tower and an optical drive at the top. Ours unfortunately developed a fault after a month or so (loud vibrating sound, possibly a fan bearing) and had to be returned.

Pretty good power supply for the price, but I do have to deduct one star for two reasons.

1. The cables on the 24-pin ATX connector are not black, they are the bare original multi-coloured cables. Why? when all of the other cables are black. This isn't a deal breaker as it doesn't affect the functionality of the product, but at the same time was it really that much trouble just to use black cables for the 24-pin just like the other cables? A shame.

2. The fan can be irritating. I have the PSU in my system "upside down" as some people would call it i.e. fan facing upwards into the case as it shows in the product picture. At 25-50% load, the fan is clearly audible. Again, not deal breaking as I have plenty of fans in my case already.

Other than those two minor niggles, this is a very good PSU for the price.
