Great product, works perfectly and my laptop is super fast now
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 July 2012
I've tried this with the following computers
MacBook pro 2012.
Did not even start

Tried it with my 2011 iMac
worked but at 1333MHz and it was even slower than the standard 1333MHz ram I got from Crucial.

my advice is 4 sticks of ram in an imac. my tests have shown about 25% faster transfer rate using 4 sticks of ram over 2 sticks of the same ram.
If like me you have an apple computer I would sugest you get the 1600MHz version of this product. it's is likely it will be faster when running at (1333MHz 2012 models) (1600MHz 2012 models).

as for me I am returning it as it's only going to slow my iMac down and it will not even run on my brand new 2012 macbook pro. :(

maybe apple will change that in time. but for now my advice is buy 4 stick slower rated ram is you have an imac and if you have an macbook pro try the 1600MHz version it may work but do a speed test before an after it may not be faster then your existing ram.

I would suggest (2011 computers mac's)
Crucial Sodimm Laptop Memory Upgrade (8GB Kit - 4GBx2,204-pin,DDR3 PC3-10600,Cl=9,1.5v)
get two lots if you have an imac

and (2012 macbook pro's)
Crucial ram memory 8GB kit (2 x 4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800,1600MHz for 2012 Apple Macbook Pro's and 2011 Mac mini's

Worked out of the box just fine. Just an advice to all, it won't improve the performance by that much - may be 1 or 2 fps increase in gaming compare to 1600MHz RAM. So if you are upgrading from 1600MHz or lower frequency, my advice is don't. It's quite expensive compared to 1600MHz RAM. So the price to performance ratio for 1866Mhz is not so good. In my option and experience, for gaming or any other multitask, 1600Mhz RAM is more than enough and also a lot cheaper. Just increase the RAM capacity, for a significant increase in performance. Increasing the frequency or the latency won't help you a lot, just cost you a lot of money.

Bought two kits of 16GB in total for my new R2. Didn't boot when installed. Managed to boot the computer using the BIOS to downclock memory to 1600MHz but 1866MHz was simply impossible. Sought help from multiple technical forums and Corsair technical support but no one really knew what the problem was. Tested the modules individually and found only one out of four booted up the computer. Thought product faulty, returned and ordered another kit from a different vendor. Same symptoms. Gave up and went for Kingston HyperX Plug-n-Play 1866MHz. Slightly slower timings but flawless performance out of the box.

Those modules run at 1.5v and they can run at 1.35v too, but with very high latency times, Corsair produces a better module for 1.35v computers like the new iMac late 2013, they require 1.35v and low lantecies, this is the model you need to get if you are a new iMac owner, otherwise you will slowdown you machine and it will overheat and will make the whole system unstable, unfortunately apple don't give any details on their ram upgrade page they are very generic. I have tries two different kinds of 1.5v sodimm and all of them give problems, the 1.35v CORSAIR CMSX16GX3M2B1600C9 Vengeance 16GB 2x8GB DDR3 1.35v SODIMM Laptop RAM, is working perfectly. Unfortunately they are very difficult to find in the UK.

1. can your PC/laptop handle it. Just because the i7 processors can handle 1866, does not mean your motherboard will(so check what it can handle)
2. If so are you running A 32bit or 64 bit OS, (If 32bit only one module stick will work at 1333/1066)

3. are you mixing your manufactures of RAM about(try to avoid this) and are you making sure that you are putting them in the right RAM to the right slot(PC/laptops that support quad channel have different setups to the way ram will work) grid to show you.

5.0 out of 5 stars OUTSTANDING MEMORY!!
Reviewed in the United States on 9 March 2012
Like the customer Minnus (see his review below mine), I too replaced my Kingston Hyper-X 1600Mhz SODIMM DDR3 with this memory in my Alienware M18X gaming laptop and never looked back! Memory latencies for this memory are tighter @ 10-10-10-27 @ 1T Commmand Rate vs the comparible Kingston Hyper-X 1866Mhz SODIMM DDR3 @ 11-11-11-28 @ 1T. However, the price for the Kingston HyperX 1866Mhz SODIMM memory kit was reduced recently and is now slightly cheaper than this kit at $84 vs $92 for the Corsair Vengeance kit. Regardless, IMHO this kit is superior in performance and thus worth the extra $8.

The only thing I would warn potential buyers about is to make sure that your laptop hardware configuration can take advantage of this memory kit's exclusive performance benefits. Only the newest Intel 2nd generation Sandy Bridge Core i7 mobile CPUs (2720QM, 2760QM, 2820QM, 2860QM, 2920XM, and 2960XM) can fully harness the higher 1600Mhz and 1866Mhz memory kit clock speeds.

5.0 out of 5 stars irre schneller Speicher
Reviewed in Germany on 4 April 2013

1.0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with Alienware M18x R2
Reviewed in the United States on 5 July 2012
If you just bought a new Alienware M18xR2 Ivy Bridge notebook (M18xR1 Sandy Bridge-based works fine with this memory) DO NOT BUY this memory! IT WILL NOT WORK (as of this writing)!
I took this RAM from my R1 and installed it in my new R2 and the system refused to stay turned on for more than a few seconds. Researching the forums, everyone with an R2 has the same problem.

Not sure if it's a Corsair issue or a Alienware issue, but other RAM is reported to work fine in the R2, so I'm guessing it's a Corsair problem.

I'm now forced to buy something else since my R2 doesn't work at all with this RAM and I bought the R2 with minimal RAM expecting to install these.
