i ordered these 3200 mhz rams to upgrade my 2666 mhz rams.when i installed them i checked task manager and i found out the actual speed is 2133 mhz not 3200 mhz. even the label on the box shows 3200 mhz. i do not know if it has happened to someone before or not.not happy and i am getting a full refund.

Ryzen 3000 series and this ram works as intended after a bios update

Update 2: After updating the bios in my Aorus X570 Pro I managed to attain the advertised speed of 3200Mhz so bumping this review up to 5 stars.

Update: not sure if I'm just unlucky or these don't last long but now it can't reach 3000MHz anymore, I've now got it at 2933MHz.

Original but now irrelevant Review:

Tl:Dr it runs stable at 3000MHz on a X570 + Ryzen 3000 series processor, can't reach 3200MHz.

So let's just say, I planned to get myself the new Ryzen 7 3700X so I ordered my sticks of Ram in advance (incase they get sold out on release of these super hyped processors) and had my wallet ready for the launch as well as a new X570 board (my previous pc setup included ddr3 ram and therefore I needed an upgrade).

After getting everything in, enabling XMP which set it automatically to a 3200MHz profile, I was met with a black screen for a good 3-5 minutes, staring at the LEDs of my motherboard which kept having it stuck on the ddr4 step of the boot cycle. After a few attempts it booted, but the bios had reset itself and disabled XMP and therefore the Ram was clocked at 2133MHz. I tried multiple times to get it to run the XMP profile but alas, things had started to look a bit dire.

I had then tried searching up about the issue, was met with mentions that ryzen doesn't support certain ram dies and its recommended to go for those with Samsung die that generally had a rating of cl14. Things took a turn for the worst, I started panicking on how to get a refund and where to get a stick of ram thats recommended for my ryzen setup. Eventually I came across a video on memory overclocking, it told me XMP was basically overclocking. It helped me out, I managed to get my sticks of ram up to 3000MHz but no matter what I did 3200MHz just would result in my system getting stuck in the boot cycle, so in the end I just settled for the 3000MHz (it's a noticeable increase in performance and benchmarking in time spy on 3dmark had a cpu score of 8600(2133MHz) to 9400(3000MHz) so for this price point I would say its worth it, there may be better options out there but this stick of ram is literally everywhere and is pretty cheap so I would class this as an OK product.

It's RAM - your main concerns here will be speed, latency and aesthetics. I think this hits the sweet spot all of them.

It's 3200mhz, which used to be unnecessary but Ryzen based gaming systems now really benefit from faster speed RAM. One thing to note is you'll need to enable XMP (extreme memory profile) in the motherboard BIOS otherwise it will run at 2133mhz by default. This is something that happens with all RAM, not just this. 3200mhz is fast enough for the purpose without being excessively expensive. I've heard some people overclock theirs to 3600mhz but obviously your mileage may vary.

The latency is again very respectable for the price, CL16 (lower is better) is good enough for almost anyone except specialists who will know who they are.

Finally, aesthetics. These are about as inoffensive as it gets. The PCB is black and the heatspreader on top of that is black. The only colour, the yellow vengeance logo on the side, is not visible when installed. There's some small white Corsair branding on the top of the heatspreader which again you can't really see. It's low profile, so it will fit under pretty much any CPU cooler. It's the type of RAM that once you install it, you can pretty much forget about.

Unless you're looking for RGB or super high clocked RAM, this is a good bet.

Finally tracked down the culprit of my new build's instability - Corsair RAM!

The memory initially worked fine. Then I started to get continual random shutdowns on my B450 system. I swapped out the motherboard for an X570 and initially, all was good. But gradually again I started to have issues. Anything like BF5 or Just Cause 4 would play solidly for 30 minutes on average before I'd get a blue screen crash. I played with various OC settings and could only get stability if I underclocked the ram which gave me 10% hit on FPS performance. Tried the 3600 variant and experienced similar problems. Finally settled on the 3866 Viper Steel series from Patriot and it's been a game-changer - no more crashes, the system is generally very stable. Had no crashes on Battlefield and getting a decent uptick in FPS performance. Sorry Corsair, as a longtime customer I'll not be returning after the past few months of headaches!

Does exactly what you'd expect

I recently purchased this memory as part of a new Ryzen system I was putting together. I checked the part number against the list of Ryzen approved memory and spotted this on there, so felt confident in pulling the trigger!

First impressions were positive. The RAM looks great, it's sturdy and it's Corsair, a brand you can trust. Installation was as expected, no issues at all.

My system originally detected it as 2133MHz memory, not 3200MHz. when I manually set it to 3200MHz in the BIOS the system crashes, so I have had to settle for 3000MHz instead, however I suspect this isn't a problem with the RAM itself.

Paired with a Ryzen r 2600 and Asus ROG Strix B450-F motherboard.

The only gripe I have is the extortionate price of the RAM, however that's more a condition of the market at the moment.
