Battle-Ready
When it’s time to take your competitive gaming on the road, the Vengeance C70 mid-tower PC case is an ideal choice. It’s crafted out of solid steel and made to survive trips with less wear and tear and the ergonomic carry handles help you move your gear with confidence.
Air Cover and Water Cover
High-performance gaming hardware requires high-performance cooling. Vengeance C70 is equipped with three 120 mm fans out of the box, with mounting points for seven more to meet your exact air cooling demands.
Vengeance C70 is also outfitted for liquid cooling upgradeability. You get 240 mm radiator compatibility on top of the case and if that’s not enough, you can remove the lower hard drive cage to fit a second 240 mm radiator for a dual-loop setup.
Gear Up
A case is as much a part of your armoury as any other component. With internal USB 3.0 connectors for modern motherboards, native SSD compatibility, eight expansion slots and room for long graphics cards, the C70 stands ready to take on any challenger.
Lock and Load
Easy access side panels come off with quick-release latches. The optical drive bays and 3.5 inch hard drive bays are tool-free. Thumbscrews secure your graphics cards and the hard drive cages can be easily removed for ideal airflow or additional expansion room. Cable routing tie-downs and built-in clamps keep your system tidy.
With so many usability features, the Vengeance C70 does what it’s supposed to do — stay out of your way while you build or upgrade.

The latches on the side make for incredibly easy access to the internal components which was very useful for my first build and the plastic cover on the reset button snaps flat on its own very nicely as well. Overall it hits that military aesthetic it was going for but is also very strong and functional too.
I stacked the odds in my favour by removing the three stock Corsair fans (the two mounted on the drive bay would just recirculate air anyway) and fitted four 120mm Noctua NF-F12 PWM Focused Flow Cooling Fans, one replacing the rear exhaust fan, two at the top providing exhaust and one in the bottom drawing air in through the filters. If I were doing it again I'd use their 140mm fans top and bottom as they can be accommodated easily. The top and bottom fans are to enhance the natural "chimney" effect the case provides for warm air to rise and evidently works well because the bottom filters are collecting more dust in front of the fan.
The PSU is the highly efficient and very quiet CoolMaster V1000. It is bottom mounted, so its exhaust also blows air up the chimney - doubling up as a second inlet fan. The main motherboard modular cable is just long enough to pass through the cable management system and reach the connector at the top edge of the motherboard.
My build was going to be a significant test to make silent because of my requirements. It's based on the ASUS Z9PA-D8 Dual LGA 2011 socket motherboard - that's two E5-2600 series Xeon processors to cool crammed onto an ATX form factor board that fits standard ATX cases like the C70. I chose tall Noctua NH-U12 coolers because of the close proximity of the RAM sockets to the CPU sockets and they *just* fit inside the case - they obstruct the upper side panel vent holes so a fan could not be fitted there. The coolers each have another 120mm Noctua NF-F12 PWM Focused Flow Cooling Fan on them and they align almost perfectly with the rear exhaust fan, so fan-cooler-fan-cooler-fan in a front-to-back row. This means that CPU 2's cooler receives air already warmed by CPU 1's cooler and runs slightly warmer but the LGA 2011 sockets are too close together to adopt the ideal vertical cooling alignment. That's up to 160W of CPU heat to dissipate (it could have been 270W with the top end E5-2600 processors)
The GPU is an Asus HD 7870 AMD Radeon DirectCU II which is power hungry and has 2 PCI power connectors. It also has its built in heat pipe cooler and pair of cooling fans, producing up to an additional 225W of heat.
Also inside are 12 x 2.5" SATA disk drives in a pair of Icy Dock six-bay hot-swap housings and 4 x 3.5" SATA disk drives in the hard drive bays. No SSDs. The 16 drives are connected to a pair of LSI MegaRAID SAS 9240-8i controllers. Altogether a lot of heat being produced. The Icy Dock bays have their own tiny fans with high-low-off switches. I have them turned off to avoid their noise and consequently these drive bays are the warmest part of the system. This seems OK and the bottom of my laptop gets warmer. The drive bay housing and C70 chassis are all metal to help conduct heat away - not just reliant on convection.
The proof point: CPU 1 is running at 41C, CPU 2 at 44C, all 6 fans are running at 480 RPM. That's why I can barely hear the computer!
The other features of the case that are brilliant are the ammo-box style latches for the case sides making access trivial and carrying handles. The cable management system is also excellent making my build clean and tidy despite almost every bay and every rear panel slot being occupied.
The only negative, often repeated, is the vent hole pattern in the plastic side panel. The plastic attracts dust through static and will allow dust into the case as there is no filter. A metal panel side would have been better. I expect it is intended to allow admirers to admire the innards. I may well see if I can fashion a blanking plate over the holes using the fan mounting points to secure it.
Overall, vastly better than any case I've had previously and I'm looking forward to enjoying the silence for years to come.
And what a lovely case - militaristic yes - but then eminently functional because of just that. People have complained about the holes on the clear side case - they are well done on the one I recieved looking moulded in as opposed to drilled in with a hexagonal shape to each hole. Having had to take the side of my current case during the hottest parts of the year to keep my system cool I welcome this side panel.
Lots of space and multiple options for cable routing. sturdy - certainly not flimsy
PROS: many!
CONS:
[1] The clamping levers for the side panels - copying the miltary style they are possibly a tad too flimsy to do the job well- if you flick them down with no care and attention they will slam shut - and might even throw the spring clip from the side of the clamp - the solution it to simply take your time! Hold in the side springs and close them slowly - these could have been much better - but it is certainly not a deal breaker by any means but Corsair should take note and rectify this for the price of the case..
[2] The power and reset buttons. On my particular case they are very vague in operation - with a barely discernable click when they are pressed.
the power button needs a fair bit of force to engage properly - but the reset button is a much more gentle affair with it's active throw being right at the bottom of the button. Because the tactile feedback for these buttons is so hard to detectit could lead to users using too much force and possibly damaging them.
without the audible hum and visual indications of the system being powered on to help guide you -- you could be left guessing as to whether you have pressed the button or not.
I would much prefer these to have a definite throw and an audible click - this would provide much better feedback and actually be a bit more in line with the theme of the case in general. - It does need addressingfor a case in this price bracket.
all in all I'd give it 9.5 out of ten - two minor things that are annioyances rather than major design problems.
Love this case so far. The handles in the top are strong and make it very easy to transport the case around, even when it's full of hardware. Lots of fan space.
The only issue is the side panel. Would have preferred it to be fully clear rather than have the 2 mounts for the side fans. However, this is a personal issue which is why I haven't docked it any stars.
Lots of cable management space which makes it very easy to create a clean build. Excellent airflow through the case.
I would fully recommend this case to anyone who is thinking about buying one. The choice of colours also means that there should be a choice for almost anyone.
