I can't even begin to tell you how I am feeling about this book, it literally blew my ever loving mind! I have purposefully avoided all spoilers and reviews as much as I can, and boy am I glad for that because the whole mystery and suspense element had me on the edge of my seat and I didn't want to put my kindle down for one single minute.

This is the story of Erika Fane, heiress to a jewellery fortune and a woman who has been in love with Michael Crist for as long as she can remember. Michael who treats her with disdain and contempt but for reasons she cannot fathom.

In the present nineteen year old Rika has decided she wants to stand on her own two feet away from the safety of her family. What she doesn't realise is, that she is moving towards a culmination of three years of planning and revenge that will push her to her limits in ways she never imagined.

"Run all you want, Little Monster, We're faster."

We are sent back to the past, three years prior to when she was only a sixteen year old girl, trying to work out where she fit in the world, and to the night she spent with the enigmatic 'Four Horsemen' who ruled their small town with the power of their rich families behind them and the prestige of being star high school jocks, that were now at college and back for 'Devils night' to cause a little havoc.

We slowly find out why she was so hated by the one person she felt safe with.

Wow! What an intense and raw book ! And I absolutely loved it . It's crazy , edgy and the relationship between Rika and Michael is so volatile yet their chemistry is off the charts . Michael is hell bent on revenge , events that occurred three years ago . Yet he can't help the way he feels about her and this ends up in him pushing her to her limits .
As for Rika, I loved her character . You can see her evolving within the pages and it's done marvellously . She's somewhat as twisted as Michael and gives it back well . She's strong and best of all , she's vwr aware of her feelings for a Michael . No second guessing her actions or motives .
The rest of the characters - Kai, Will and even Damon are strongly formed and each leave it's mark individual . I hope there are books devoted to them as I would love to hear more from the Horsemen !

After struggling with the last few books I've read, I decided maybe I needed a break from reading. I haven't read a book for weeks and nothing peaked my interest enough to pick up my kindle and start reading again.... Until this book was released.

I've previously read Penelope's other stories and really enjoyed them, so when this book was announced, in a new genre, I was more that a little interested. Then I read snippets, saw the book trailer and I grew more and more intrigued.

I've just finished, after devoting 24 hours to reading, it would have been quick if real-life hadn't got in the way.

I loved every second of it, the story one that gripped me from the very first page. It pushed boundaries and challenged the norm and I love that. I couldn't stop reading, I had to force myself to stop and I wasn't happened when I did.

Rika is a strong character - Penelope writes woman fantastically I think. I couldn't help but like Michael, even from the very beginning. There were so many moments that I held my breath, there were twists and turns I wasn't expecting and I loved being kept guessing rather than having everything handed to me on a plate.

I really hope there will be more from these characters, I'm left wondering; whats with Alex? What's going on with Kai? I love being left wanting more - will we get it? I hope so.

Absolutely fantastic. One of my favourite reads of all time.

I ended up skim reading it from 60%, unrealistic twisted characters and the steam room scene didn't work for me, would he share the woman he loves so much like that?! It was repetitive how she was constantly put in a position where she thought she'd be raped. And in times of distress they all just seemed to pinch their eyebrows, an over used description. I felt the story dragged on and I was disappointed having enjoyed Punk 57 which had far more depth.

I love dark romances and yes this is NA but still good nevertheless.

Hero is dark and had a thing for heroine from a young age but decided not to show it and instead torments her because he thought she had betrayed him and his friends. He even lets his friends scare and terrorise her. But we also get to see that he had feelings for her, and is increasingly feeling conflicted and divided by his loyalty to his friends and to her.

My only problem is, the whole conflict between heroine and hero was based on something which if they had sat down to talk about would have been cleared instantly (like it was in the end)!
