Cut to the facts about coronavirus in Corona, False Alarm?, the runaway German bestseller.

In June 2020, Corona, False Alarm? exploded into the German market, selling 200,000 copies and 75,000 e-books in six weeks.

No other topic dominates our attention as much as coronavirus and COVID-19, the infectious disease it triggers. There’s been a global deluge of contradictory opinions, fake news, and politically controlled information. Differing views on the dangers posed by the pandemic have led to deep division and confusion, within governments, society, and even among friends and family.

In Corona, False Alarm?, award-winning researchers Dr. Sucharit Bhakdi and Dr. Karina Reiss give clarity to these confusing and stressful times. They offer analysis of whether radical protective measures—including lockdown, social distancing, and mandatory masking—have been justified, and what the ramifications have been for society, the economy, and public health. Dr. Bhakdi and Dr. Reiss provide dates, facts, and background information, including:

  • How Covid-19 compares with previous coronaviruses and the flu virus
  • What infection numbers and the death rate really tell us
  • The challenges around lockdown: Were the protective measures justified?
  • Mandatory mask-wearing: Does the science support it?
  • Does the race for vaccine development make sense? What are the chances of success? Will the vaccine be safe? Will people accept it?

Corona, False Alarm? provides you with sound information and substantiated facts—and encourages you to form your own opinion on the corona crisis.

A Voice of Sanity in a Mad World
I have been sceptical of the measures governments around the world have been taking to ‘protect’ us from Covid-19 from day one and nothing that has happened since has changed my mind. Other than policies which aim to protect the most vulnerable, I really don’t see the point in any of them. The voodoo approach of virus suppression currently being pursued by politicians merely delay the inevitable, prolong the agony and destroy the economy to boot. .Back in April, one of the first dissenting voices I came across on the internet was that of Sucharit Bhakdi, a multi prize-winning, German microbiologist. Bhakdi’s calm, measured and authoritative criticisms of lockdowns, mask-wearing and the dangers of hastily released, untested vaccines were, for me at least, a voice of sanity in a world which appeared to be descending into madness.I was, therefore, delighted to find that his German language bestseller ‘Corona Fehlalarm’ had been translated into English and released here. Of course, as opposition to government lockdowns has spread throughout the world and the number of dissenters grown, Bhakdi’s views no longer seem quite so heretical. Still, in these dark days of deliberately engineered panic and with governments doubling down with irrational fear-mongering perhaps it’s more important than ever to have so many Corona-related facts & figures pulled together in one place. At only 160-odd pages this is short but essential reading and is well worth an hour or two of anyone’s time.

I recently finished reading "Corona, False Alarm?: Facts and Figures" and, as a big fan of Dr. Bhakdi's activism on the government and big pharma's COVID-19 scam, I was thoroughly impressed by the level of research and expertise that he brought along to the subject, as he's been continuously doing online over the past 3 years. The book is well-written, considering that it's been translated from German, and the information is presented in a clear, concise and slightly sarcastic manner, making it a great pleasure to read (even if you're not a medical expert). I have to admit the way it criticizes the ignorance (or perhaps, the corruption?) of modern governments made me laugh aloud, a couple of times.
Bhakdi certainly did an excellent job of presenting both sides of the argument and offering an accurate and objective perspective on the matter, covering the social, medical, ethical, financial and psychological damage that the press and the operators of this scandal had caused in Germany, and not only.
Overall, I highly recommend the book to anyone who can appreciate good scientific writing more than corporate mainstream media propaganda. It's a well-written and informative book that I believe would be of value to anyone looking to learn more about this fascinating topic. Needless to mention, the claims in this short book are all backed by more than a hundred external references.
Thank you, Dr. Bhakdi, for the privilege to learn from you.

This is an excellent book by Dr Karina Reiss and Dr Sucharit Bhakdi entitled: “Corona False Alarm Fact and Figures” with credible data, actual hard-hitting scientific data with links and sources. Completed the book within a day and found it a fascinating read and hope that one day this book will serve as a cautionary tale about dangers of collusion between governments, media, the medical establishment, big business, and big tech (technocracy) in a future world which pulled back from the brink of fascism, totalitarianism, and the enslavement of the 99%. For many people who have been deliberately labelled as ‘conspiracy theorists’ when in actual reality the conspiracy they talk about is a ‘conspiracy fact’. This book confirms that the current global ‘killer virus’ is a disease that makes some people sick, proves fatal to a few, and does nothing to the rest. Like any annual flu. Of course, it was always necessary to take special care not to bring these agents to elderly persons with pre-existing illnesses. When you feel unwell, refrain from visiting Grandma and Grandpa, especially if they are suffering from a heart condition or lung disease. And whoever has the flu will stay at home anyway. That is how everything has been and how everything should continue.

But sadly, the proponents of the ‘new normal’: Bill Gates; Dr A. Fauci: World Health Organisation (WHO); Agenda 21 (Great Reset – World Economic Forum) elites champions have their own agenda of fearmongering, control, and global domination. This fearmongering of an asymptomatic person who is deemed to be contagious and unknowingly pass the virus onto others was proven to be false after a scientific journal co-authored by Professor Christian Drosten. This publication caused world-wide sensation with expected effects for a deadly virus that could be transmitted by a healthy individual was akin to a swift invisible killer! This fear became the main driving force of global fearmongering behind the many ongoing extreme preventative measures – from visiting bans for hospitalised patients all the way to obligatory mask wearing. In the midst of a general panic, a very important fact escaped general attention. The major statement of the publication turned out to be false. A follow-up enquiry revealed that the Chinese Businesswoman had been ill during her stay in Germany and was under medication to relieve pain and reduce fever (Kai Kupferschmidt study: “claiming that the new virus can be transmitted by people without symptoms was flawed”, Science Feb 2020. This was not mentioned in the publication (Camilla Rothe et al).

Overall, the book exposes the WHO’s incorrect assessment that the current global pandemic is really 10 times dangerous than the seasonal flu. However, this argument of the number of infections was at least 10 times higher because mild and asymptomatic cases had not been sought and detected (Silvia Stringhini et al). “…. This would bring us to a much realistic fatality rate of 0.4%. For many of us already know that the WHO had changed the definition of a pandemic to suit their own interests in 2009 - when they described a pandemic as a disease spread across national borders (but did not kill many people) could be described as a pandemic. Moreover, the number of true killer virus deaths was lower because many or most had died of causes other than the virus. Further correction of the number brings us to rough estimate of 0.1%-0.3%, which is in range of moderate flu. This tallies well within the results of professor Streeck, who arrived at an estimate of 0.24%-0.26% based on the data of his Heinsberg Study. The average age of the deceased who tested positive was around 81 years…”

The conclusion that the virus is comparable to seasonal flu has been reached by many investigators in their countries. In an analysis of several studies, J. P. A. Ioannidis showed that, contingent to local factors and statistical methodology, the median infection fatality rate was 0.27% (60). Many other investigators arrived at similar conclusions. All studies to date thus clearly show that this virus is not a real “killer virus” (Kenji Mizumoto, Katushi Kagaya and Gerardo Chavell & Timothy W. Russell).

Highly recommended reading along with “Coming Apocalypse” by Dr Vernon Coleman.

5.0 out of 5 stars Provides an over-arching warning and concern
Reviewed in Canada on 23 December 2020
This is an important book. It is more than just about statistics (and this book provides ample stats. Though much of it should be obvious to those who follow events closely. Do keep in mind it does focus on Germany but what happened there applies to most countries; particularly in the West including my country of Canada), which are indeed crucial if we're to contextualize things properly if not dispassionately, but about how we're handling the situation, and what the potential poor ramifications that may come of it.

My concern from the onset was once we tap into people's primal emotions like fear, it's impossible to reason it back into calm. It has to pass. This is the biggest failure in my judgement. Another monumental mistake were the lockdowns which were disproportionate to the threat and come with tragic trade-offs; Bastiat's dictum of 'the unseen' rears its mysterious head once more. We over played the precautionary principle to the point of grotesqueness.

We allowed government to essentially take over our lives and with it came a loss of liberty and independence all under the guise of 'public health'. We became slaves to medical bureaucrats and infectious disease experts corroded with tunnel vision. All we were pretend was there was death and masks and vaccines were the only way out. Media, unsurprisingly, opted to be mouthpieces of the government disinterested in discourse that could bring a sense of perspective if not truth to people. Politicians hide behind the 'experts' as they deprive people of their inalienable right to assemble, worship and earn a living.

Why this is happening goes beyond the scope of this book and subsequent review. The whole darn thing has to be investigated from public health officials, to politicians to Big Pharma to the WHO.

They failed us. All of them.

We must no let this become a precedent because what we're witnessing is hysteria.

5.0 out of 5 stars True facts from two scientists who actually know about viruses and epidemics.
Reviewed in the United States on 29 November 2020
I bought the paperback version. The prose is well written and I didn't find any grammatical errors - something that can take away from the enjoyment of reading a book. There are 10 chapters, but, strangely, they are not numbered in the body of the book. There's also a long list of references, but no Index section. The book is an easy read.

The book is packed with true information (facts). The authors are actual experts in the study of viruses, and other phages, and appear to understand what an epidemic is and how it works. Though they write from their first hand experience with the epidemic as it took place in Germany (the book is translated from the German version), the information and the events they describe are exactly the same as those for the United States and other countries.

Importantly, they describe how the government and the media have exaggerated the impact of the virus and have pushed an alarmist agenda and conducted fear mongering in order to control the public (sounds like what is taking place in the U.S.). COVID-19 is compared to other causes of deaths of people over 80 years old such as cardiovascular disease, cancer and respiratory infections, and the number of viral deaths is shown to be insignificant! By the way 1.2 million people die in auto accidents every year, though the media doesn't publish much of these incidents - it's just a statistic. Information is also presented which describes the development of the vaccines. The authors state that a number of safety checks have been bypassed in order to bring the vaccines to market quickly. I'm sure the officers of each drug company are jumping for joy. Did you think that the pharmaceutical industry was really being charitable? The taxpayers are footing the bill! So, with all of the shortcuts being taken, it's questionable whether the vaccines are really safe. The authors point this out in the book. With this information in mind, I'm not taking the vaccine.

The book was published in October 2020. So, unfortunately, we don't have the authors' comments regarding the existence of a second wave of COVID infections. However, they did state that the peak of the viral infections took place during April 2020.

So, turn off the news. Put down the newspapers. Take some deep breaths and relax. Make a cup of tea or eat something very delicious and take a walk outside! Get back to living a normal life. The authors have stated - and I believe they have successfully made the point - that COVID is no worse than the flu and life should go on.

    I highly recommend the book!
