Anyhow, this thing is very clever! It's easy to put on and works like a charm. It opens easily and stays closed. It feels like a silicon type rubber material, not a hard plastic which I liked. I'd love to have 10 of these things to put on all my frozen veggie bags for an easy pour spout. I'm using it on a bag of candy right now which is convenient too. It is a must have on bagged cereal!
The only reason why I gave it 4-stars instead of 5 is that its a little but of an unnecessary luxury and priced like one too. For what it is, its' pretty expensive in my opinion compared to a bag clip. It's a little bulkier too which is a con. Overall I would still recommend it and I will probably get one or two more down the road.
After we open one of those frozen vegetable bags from green giant or shoprite we used to use ziplock bags to store the extra in. Now we just cap it off with one of these and make any bag into a resealable freezer safe container. Saves us cash on ziplocks and is easier to poor vegetables into the bowl.
I was a little confused when I first opened the package -- had she sent me a plastic water bottle wrapped in two boxes? Who sends a LID?
Then I read the tag and Oh, interesting -- it fits on bags and like magic instant food storage? Genius. And how did she know? We had just bought a bag of rice and our apartment has no cabinet space so we've not bothered with things like food storage but the bag wasn't resealable so we were struggling with how to keep it from spilling. We were about ready to just give in and buy storage and just give up what little counter space we had left, but this arrived so I popped it on the bag with no problems at all, and problem solved.
I'll be buying more for all of our bulk and bagged foods.
