The 4 mushrooms contained in this are,
Porcini = good
Oyster = good
Slippery jack = medium to low quality
Jelly ear = low quality.

After putting a hand full of dried mushrooms into a soup it smelled and tasted great BUT the Jelly ear mushroom should not even be in this, it is a tasteless crunchy lump which is rather unenjoyable to consume, to top it off it has been used to bolster the weight and volume of the package to the tune of 1/3rd.

I ended up removing them from the tub and disposed of them.

The other mushrooms contained as a package are just about worth the asking price fortunately.

I've stored these mushrooms as per the instructions, and they have a use by date in 2017, but I just came to use some and the container is crawling with thousands and thousands of tiny bugs. I mean tens of thousands, it's terrifying and sickening. I will never buy a large tub like this again, it's obviously difficult to use them all before the flies set in and make it their home. 9/10s of the container has to be wasted and thrown away. They are either not dried fully before being packaged, or they are packaged in a dirty atmosphere. Either way, will certainly not be buying these again and I'm pretty angry at the wasted money.

In the past I've bought Belazu's mushrooms and they were fantastic, but they've been discontinued so I tried these and they weren't nearly as good. I mostly use dried mushrooms in risotto and the soaking liquid goes into the stock, but these had a weird musty smell. I thought they might improve after soaking, but they didn't. Shame.

On the jar - ingredients are - slippery jack, jelly ear, oyster. No porcini. Need to buy those separately. Very big plastic jar the size of old fashioned sweet shop jar.
I use a lot of dried mushrooms. I particularly appreciate them when I run out or forget to buy fresh ones, and when cooking with the microwave they are indispensable. They soak up the liquid from steamed vegetables and the juices from chicken and meats so no spillage from hot liquids and getting scalded when opening bags, as well as all that added flavour.

Add to that dried onions, garlic flakes, split peas, and dried vegetables for soup mixes and you can produce meals crammed with flavour in the microwave in half an hour and often less.

Bargain price for the product. They're just as good as the more expensive mushrooms and give a great flavour. Would definitely buy again.

A good mix for sauces and soups. Good texture and flavoursome. After trying them out myself I ordered them for my parents in Polish lake district unfortunately having poor mushroom picks at the end of this summer.

Purchased these and used them once, Put them in a cupboard and I went to use them the other day (still within the use by date) and they have started to what can only be described as decompose.
