Tim says:
This kept me alive and nourished when I left home 30 years ago and I still cook from it. Simple instructions, fairly simple ingredients. If your offspring are leaving for University then buy them a copy. Contains some good wholesome fast food meals - "Mediterranean Fish" is a delight and only takes 20 mins. My 1981 edition also shows some ghastly meals that you really wouldn't want to try - but a "must have" all the same and a delightful piece of cultural history too. Useful advice on alcohol "You can't very well stop a man getting drunk if he is that way inclined, but you can stop him getting drunk by accident." My copy contains no advice re women getting drunk.
