Hugh undertakes an amazing journey when it come to gaining wild food for free, bartering or a little work on the odd farm or the like as recompence for his labour.
We may not be able to go about doing the things he did around Britain, but we can small-time in our own locality.
All of his books are written articulately, are entertaining and his moral ethics are modern and in keeping with how we should be thinking in today's World.
If you love the outdoors and wild food, this is a MUST HAVE publication, even if you get it second hand as I did. (Immaculate copy) You need to have a bit of experience in the field or a good identification guide. I stated out on "The Easy Guide" books and haven't looked back.

All the recipes, HFW's comments and notes on various episodes and items that arose. Sadly not to much on the Land Rover (one of the reasons we all watched the series) but it's a great book to have to add new dishes into your kitchen (inside or outside).
