Absolutely love converse. I normally go for red or blue but this time I decided to break from the norm and instead opted for charcoal. This is obviously a dark grey with a slight hint of green. They go well with blue jeans and grey skinny jeans. They fit perfectly. They were delivered promptly and came in a converse box. Definitely recommend.
I've always received compliments on the colour of these and they've been my favourite colour pair. They're not too bright but not boring blue or black and go with all other colours. I personally find the hi tops more comfy and harder wearing than the low tops.
However over the last few years the quality of Converse has really taken a nose dive, while the price has increased dramatically. These purple ones have had a decent amount of wear but now the soles have completely worn through so they've had to be binned. A newer grey pair of low tops only lasted a year before the soles disintegrated. I still have a 8-9 year old pair (cost less than £15) which are still going strong, with no signs of wear on the sole.
I recently purchased some Adidas VL NEOs which are very similar in style to Converse but with much comfier insoles and what appears to be better quality soles. I really don't think Converse are worth their high price tag now the quality is much poorer.
Lovely contrasting red and white colours and are a consistently good fit. All members of my family of all ages buy Converse All Stars and we are all pleased with them.
They may be a little "starchy" to start with but soon wear into a soft shoe suitable for long walks.
I always find them to be a high quality well made shoe, I have used the washing machine cycle to clean them and they come out as good as new!
I am not sure how many times they are good for doing this too, mainly I just clean up the white rubber bits. I am sure the last pair I had went through the washing machine at least half a dozen times though.
