Texas are back after 8 years since last album Red Book. I have to say this is their best album since The Hush in 1999 ! Sharleen's vocals are outstanding on this album. By far best track is Dry Your Eyes. this album has so many different styles of music Soul, Rock n Roll, Sway, rock pop. a must have album. Welcome back Texas.

As XXXL Texas-Fan I was very exited how the new album will be. And I was not disappointed. This sound, this voice!!!, that is truly unique.
Sharleen and the boys always manage to create a new sound, the inner core remains unmistakable, Texas since 1989.
Every song on this album stays in your ears and in your brain, do not want out and leaves a happy and positiv mood.
Sharleen's voice is just a dream!!!
Texas do it again and again, to reinvent themselves, but also to remain true. That this band has fun at music, you can hear it and you can feel it.
Texas - The Conversation is a "must have" for any good music collection!!!
Texas, thank you so much for this masterpiece...

What a comeback album! I bought the deluxe version which gives the added bonus of a live cd which is good because having checked out tickets for their upcoming tour they start from £99!! Much as I love Texas I refuse to pay that sort of money!

I have listened to the album several times now, and it is a grower, the more I hear it the more I like it! The production is fantastic, and in my opinion there is not a bad track on this album!

I have been a Texas fan since the original the original Southside CD. Living in the US, Texas is in my opinion one of the best, most undiscovered, bands there is. I say "undiscovered" as a US perspective. I rarely find anyone who knows who they are here. Even those who listen to the same styles of music are unaware of Texas. I will give them a mix CD and they are hooked.

I have a lot of different music that I listen to. I listen to Texas more that all of the others combined. There is a complexity and a sophistication to there music that you have to listen to appreciate. Amazing that it has been 25 years + since Southside.

I enjoy sharing this band with friends. They are amazed at the sound and quality of the lyrics.

The Conversation is another example of the talent of this group of people.

So, I was there at the start in 1989, loving the Southside sound, and their second album, which has almost disappeared from view (Mothers Heaven)is not unlike this new one. The two disc C.D. has some excellent new music from the Band and Sharleen Spiteri has nailed it as she focuses completely on giving a first class performance throughout both the studio album and the sensational live C.D. that accompanies it. Whether it is the album title track, the superb Detroit City, Talk About Love or Big World, the album testifies hand on heart that sometimes an 8-year break is worth-while! Never has Ms Spiteri sounded so invigorated. Very highly recommended.

Of the 3 albums I bought together this arrived first and is my favourite although I would say I am bigger fans of the other two.
The first CD is of new material and has some great acoustic tracks as well as there radio friendly singles.
The second cd is basically a greatest hits live cd with the title track of there new album getting the live treatment too.
Sharleen and the boys are on top form with this great new album.

I hadn't really heard much of Texas's music before this, but caught them performing The Conversation on Jools Holland, liked it a lot and took a punt on the album. I'm glad I did because it's a collection of good, varied songs which are well performed and produced.

It's a double CD. The second is a live album from some of their Scottish gigs which is OK but to me nothing that special. The first CD is a studio album of new songs and it is this one that I really like. I have to admit that it's not the most original-sounding or ground-breaking album I've ever heard, but it's none the less enjoyable for that. Texas have come a long way but there's still a lot of 80s mud on their boots. I thought I heard echoes of The Pretenders, Kim Wilde, Pat Benatar and others throughout but the songs are their own and make for a very enjoyable collection.

So - for what the opinion of a Texas novice is worth - I think this is an album of really good songs, well played and very well sung. It may not be an enduring classic, but I'm enjoying it a lot and can recommend it.

I very much liked the Texas hits from the '90s and a few years ago I saw Sharleen live when she was touring with her own Melody album. The show was fantastic and I enjoyed most of the tracks from that album. But this album is such a let down. I enjoyed only 2 tracks - "The Conversation" and "Dry Your Eyes" - the other 10 tracks were dull and instantly forgettable!
I've already bought tickets for the Texas tour later in the year - whilst I'm still confident that they will put on a great live show, I just hope they dont play too many tracks from this album!
