I imagine high end professional ones are more heavy duty but this fits the bill for me, for indoor use. It is only 85w each light so best for close up (less than 1m from the subject i would suggest), like food or close up portrait. You will need a larger system with larger bulbs and soft boxes for full length portraits. If this is what you want, look for a larger system or you will be disappointed.
The plugs were UK fittings straight out of the box and it all fits neatly back into the travel case with some excess room. Its not one of those bags you get all thee stuff out and struggle to get it back in. I also used the kit for an instructional video for my work, again close up of an electronic controller.
A great value purchase. I have looked at kits before and you are quickly up to £300 to £500 so this was a no-brainer for me.
They are not the brightest but they certainly throw enough light on the subject and do not produce the same level of heat of some other 'cheap' lights I have used and tried.
The included carry bag was a nice addition and is helpful for the odd times I need to transport them from my home office. Sadly the zip broke on day one but not the end of the world.
I purchased them for some YouTube video creation and they have helped massively. Would certainly recommend if you want some reasonable lights without spending a fortune.
If you want brighter lights then you can always buy the higher wattage bulbs separately. The kit is actually well made too. Impressed for the price considering proper studios lights would run to £200 plus per light, and extra for the soft boxes and stands.
Very simple to erect and the light emitted is just perfect. The 50x70 size gives great balance light.
The item is well package and it all fits very neatly into the soft case. Lightweight and sturdy.
Perfect for low key portraits, food and macro work.
In the other hand the bulbs are not so good. 1 of 4 bulbs was delivered broken even if their protection case-box had no damage at all and 1 bulb out of 4 is not working correctly. It actually makes a non-stop electrical sound when it gets hot (after 20-40 seconds or so) and i can actually see the the light tremble through the photography camera's screen. Yes i did tried this bulb to another tripod but it still "sings" when it becomes hot. The light these bulbs they produce is just ok. Stronger bulbs are recommended. I believe that 4 stars is fair to the product as it's not perfect (due to the bulbs) but it is very cheap and it is better than average.
Once I had set the legs down properly and opened out fully, its much sturdier than I thought and safe to leave on floor. At first I cannot have had legs down properly. An excellent piece of kit.
