Is it just me or have I just found an enormous leap in the timeline of this novel in my digital edition? Errr, location 4604. Seems to jump from one pair of characters to another.

Hmm, I read your post yesterday but hadn't reached that far yet. Just now thought I found what you meant and came to confirm location 4638. Except your location # is different though it comes earlier in the same section.

I have the sentence:

"That, I think you'll find, is the only way to talk about my mother."
[followed by]
"These things accrete."

Tell me if that's the same spot.

Until I get my physical copy I can only speculate that all that is missing is a section break. Banks frequently jumps into conversations in progress and reveals the setting and characters subsequently.

Yep that's the spot; and yeah you're right it's just a missing section break...annoyed me he says, these things accrete
