4.0 out of 5 stars Fear the Gods 8 Aug. 2012
By Desmond M Hassing - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I purchased this book because of the well designed cover and because a lifelong love of Greek Mythology. What I found in this book was a story that was highly involved and complicated, however I must admit that it did fail at times to keep me involved in the story, making it a rather long read for me. While it did focus very specifically on the details of its ancient Greek environment (Culture, Religion, ect.) which was interesting, so much focus seemed to rob the story of some of the intensity and drive of the action. But that may have simply been something which will prove specific to me and not everyone else.

It was well written and I would recommend it to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing 20 Nov. 2015

t was long, and I've honestly never had a book I enjoyed so much take me so unimaginably long to read... But it was worth it. I honestly wonder if the book was part of a series (I haven't checked yet) as the ending seemed so open as to leave for other options later one... In truth, I am most curious as to what happened about the Temple on Naxos, Pythias, and the others' fates. I would very much like to see a continuation revolving more around that and their lives afterwards.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Story of Gods and their Rebirth into Mortality 30 July 2012
By Weston A. Kincade - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I was given this book to edit and enjoyed it immensely, like I have all of Scott Rhine's books. I loved Pythias' story: his painful childhood, the political corruptions and truths still present in today's society, and the manipulative way he plays both sides for the betterment of humanity. This is an entertaining tale that I highly recommend. In addition, when I first saw the cover, I was blown away. Contagion of the Gods isn't just a pretty face, but great inside and out. Pick up your copy today if you enjoy tales of Gods, fantasy, and adventure reminiscent of Homer's story of Odysseus.
4.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining Greek myth-style tale. 3 Oct. 2012
By C. Peace - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Disclosure: I helped edit this book.

Contagion of the Gods reads like an ancient Greek myth. Here you will find seers and oracles and the creatures of ancient legend, such as Amazonian warriors, Silenes, satyrs and centaurs. Around them, and the more prosaic characters of Pythias and Nestor, runs a dark tale of greed, envy, and power-hungry rivals who are each desperate to possess items that will transform them into gods.

With some great action scenes, plenty of wry humour, and believable dialogue, Contagion of the Gods is a page-turning read.

I have read and reviewed a few other books by this author. So far from all his books I have read I have absolutely loved his books and that includes this one. I can very well imagine the characters and all that is going on in this book. Very well written.

I can't wait to read more of Scott Rhines' books.

* I have received a free of this for my honest .*
