This book was very informative as I kept eating /craving peanut brittle and Im not pregnant! Once I found out and sorted that I haven't had peanut brittle since Now Im going through a spell of chocolate cravings without this book I would never have conquered my inner feelings. A must if you are thinking of buying this book.

This book is a great insight into the reasons behind why some of us have uncontrollable cravings. I didn't just recognise the traits associated with my own cravings but it rang very true for other people I am close to, what I know of their personalities and their food addictions. It's a great book to read if you are interested in tackling your own food demons or in helping others conquer theirs.

I borrowed this from the library and knew I had to own it! It is so full of facts and interesting things about food and why we crave it, from both a physical and psychological level. It explains an awful lot as to why I crave the foods I do, and has helped me to deal with those cravings. The author Doreen Virture Phd writes in a friendly an accessable way and is reassuring throughout, and also very encouraging.

If you have cravings for anything, this will enlighten you and may even help.

This book is absolutely brilliant. Doreen Virtue looks at food from a totally different perspective; it just makes sense. It is a reference book which can be dipped into when needed.

I've had this book for years, I enjoyed reading it quite some time ago and have recently come back to re-read it, because a lot of new books are coming out on the market that address emotional eating. We all know emotions and eating certain foods are linked, for those of us who like to self-soothe with food, it's a given. However this book does address the specific cravings and what they mean, I'm not sure if all of them ring completely true for absolutely everyone, or I would have given the book five stars, but still, it is a very worthwhile read if you are unable to identify the feelings that you are having, which is surprisingly more common than one would think. It's not going to change your life on it's own, but if you can identify the cravings and the emotions linked then it is easier to do something about it. By making our lives more fulfilling in a different manner, rather than using food we can re-route those cravings for actual life satisfaction rather than food. So I think this book certainly holds a lot of useful information and is worth reading if you need to deal with some emotional eating.

Yet another excellent read from Doreen whose books I absolutely love. This book is more scientific but still comprehensive and easy to read. The information there is extremely interesting. I would recommend it for every nutritionist/psychologist.

This book opened my eyes to problems, a lot of which have come from my early childhood years. I could identify with many scenarios which Doreen described within and my goal now is to try & heal my body, mind & Spirit. Although I'm not sure if I can actually manage it by myself.... & there's where my problem lies. Definitely worth a read though & I highly recommend, spending the short time it takes to read it.

One of the reviewers mentioned they had, after reading this book, given up their cravings for peanut butter, but had now developed a craving for chocolate. I think that after reading this that one of the problems is that a new craving can replace the old one. Doreen has drawn on some scientific findings and has also worked hard at creating a fairly interesting read. Sometimes, though, you need something sweet to take away those hunger pangs. Although some of what Doreen mentions is interesting, I think there are other issues she could have covered in a more in-depth way. There is, though, sure to be something in this for everyone.
