With an implausible plot, shallow characterisation, an unpleasant aura throughout and a miserable ending, there is literally nothing good to say about "Conspiracy". If I could remember more about this novel, I could detail the variety of ways in which it is truly awful but, thankfully, it is nearly instantly forgettable. It's one of those books you persist with reading on the basis that it must start getting good soon. This one never does. How four other people rated this book higher than 1 star is the only mystery here. I wish I could give it no stars.
This is a book which is topical, futuristic and unfortunately has a ring of truth, even though at time it seems far fetched. Set in the modern world the main characters are reasonably well drawn and contribute well to the story. You have to keep your concentration high as well as your hope; because that is all you have! The pieces fit together like a jigsaw and if you follow the various conspiracy theories you will absolutely love this story. Whether you like, agree with or despair at the conclusion is best left to the individual reader. One thing is for sure, your will hang into the story right to the very end. A jolly good read.
A cleverly written book that would pique the interest of anyone involved in politics and the secrets that are kept from us. It is a story that keeps you thinking and you must concentrate from beginning to end.
I don't give spoilers but will say that although I don't like explicit sex scenes (be warned), the story itself was interesting, intriguing and thought provoking - well-written too.
You will have to decide for yourself about how it ends, but it will churn your mind for a long time.
