During one such scenario, Kason encounters Taryn as his group land searching for missing scientists. After many difficulties, agreement is reached, diplomatic agreement for Kelderan colonists. As Taryn and an aide board Kasons ship to head home. Add an old enemy, misunderstandings and a male superiority complex, a lesson in female tenacity ensures that all ends well eventually.
A book I couldn't put down until I finished it.
Taryn was the leader of her planet, a planet that was mostly populated by women as the devastating “Doom Virus” killed any male embryo’s whilst they were still in their mother’s womb. The males that lived with their partners had mostly been travellers that had landed on their planet and stayed, and also some that had become trapped but had made the plane their home, taking a partner and having families of their own….
When the warrior ship lands on the planet they are quickly taken down by a group of women and then after they regained consciousness they discovered that they were infact now prisoners. Taryn is a very astute and through leader, she knows that the need to bring a new colony to her planet is vital, the Kelderan’s are very technologically advanced and they may be able to help find a cure for the “Doom Virus”.
This has been a trial as women of Jasvar have had to play down their role of effective warriors so that they are only seen a woman in need of rescue and as the trap was so bated so that the Prince could be caught and negotiated with.
The Prince and Taryn agree to visit his father on the home planet of Kelderan to agree terms for a colony from their planet to move and live with them hopefully there would also be some assistance with a cure to the “Doom Virus”. However change is never easy and there were certain factions than did not want the joining of the two planets of warriors, they failed to believe that the women could be more than just carers of children and wives, they believe that women should be seen but not really heard.
Things were about to get a good shaking up!!!
There were going to be a few very unexpected occurrences, life would never be quite the same ever again………
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!!
This is the first in a new series by Jessie Donovan. This is for adults only due to the steamy content, and there are no dragon shifters or shifters of any kind in this book.
As always Jessie has some awesome characters that definitely didn’t take me long to really like. I especially like Taryn’s determination and her never give up attitude. At first I wasn’t sure I was going to like Kason, he was arrogant and definitely sexist. He has grown on me because while he comes from a planet that underutilizes women, he values them above all. I love how he tries to keep an open mind and how Taryn keeps trying to push the limits further and further. They are a great pair, and I can’t wait to see what awaits the rest of them especially the Princess and Vala.
Jessie Donovan is fabulous at developing characters you want to know more about and that you become invested in. She knows how to balance drama and action to keep you engaged in the book. She is definitely one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
I recommend this book to anyone who loves Jessie’s writing style and to those Sci-fi lovers who likes aliens and space travel adventures.
