3.0 out of 5 stars Connecting Mathematical Ideas book 4 Jan. 2007
By C. Bratz - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I had to buy this book for a class in college, so I went online to find it. The book was worth the buy. It comes with a disk with examples of what is discussed in the book, and it is great for learning about the constructivist view in mathematical education. I would reccommend this to teachers looking to learn more about mathematical constructivism.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't get enough 10 July 2010
By Kimberly Leong - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I read this book to prepare to teach a course. I alternated reading first with watching videos first, but either way, I learned something about teaching. I kept wishing that my daughter had been in this class!! I was inspired.
What is 1 divided by 2/3? Prove it without finding a reciprocal. Witness a group of 7th graders who do just that! This is not the math we learned in school. Thank goodness.

I bought this book for a teaching math methods class, and it has been fantastic! It shows how the planning and methodologies work in an actual classroom. The explanations are very insightful. It links the theory to the practice of teaching.
