I bought this thinking it was from a punk n' roll group that were kicking about around the early 00's with Electric Frankenstein, Candy Snatchers and the like, it is and they have changed. They've taken most of the straight forward rock n' roll music out and replaced it with pure blandness, they sound like any other popular rock band.

there's a few good songs on there but it's a really poor over produced record

Almost every song is a highlight on this album. I only heard the band through random downloads and I'm glad I did because this was one of the first albums I bought that I discovered. It's what Americans I think would usually call punk rock, but over here we're less liberal with the word punk. It's got a lot of fast tunes with good lyrics and a catchiness that few rock bands truly manage to capture. Favourite track probably Biz Loves Sluts, but I'm happy with the whole album. Catchy fast rock at its best.

HASH(0x8c5aaf3c) out of 5 stars GFFG!!!!!!!! 14 Nov. 2006

The Gamblers rule, if this is an unknown fact to you, then you are either deaf, never heard them, or just dumb. If the first or last are the case, then you are screwed, if it's the second, then buy this record, and treat your ears the punk rock ear candy that is the Gamblers. An intense live act, that causes physical injury to all those on stage. Playing songs that will recall equal parts Rocket From The Crypt, AC DC, Radio Birdman, The Rip Offs, and other classic yesteryear punk rock, but make no mistake, this rock is all 100% Gamblers!

HASH(0x8c5aaf90) out of 5 stars Outstanding 8 May 2006

This is great, hard hitting cd. Stand out tracks are "I'm Still Not Dead Yet", "Year of the Rooster' and "Curse of the Ivory Coast" but there's not really a bad track on here. It's melodic, energetic but still raw. One of the best cds I bought this year. They sound tight, not sloppy. Can't wait to see them live-heard they're a great show.

HASH(0x8c715e94) out of 5 stars High-energy punk rock 9 Nov. 2006
By Seth Weinstein - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I first heard of the Riverboat Gamblers from the Warped Tour 2006 compilation CD. As soon as I heard "Don't Bury Me...I'm Still Not Dead" I knew that I had to own the CD.

"To The Confusion Of Our Enemies" is full of punk rck with attitude, but on the other hand doesn't take itself too seriously. "Don't Bury Me" is a high-speed ballad, "Biz Loves Sluts" is a thinly-veiled poke at Hollywood, and tracks such as "The Gamblers Try Their Hand At International Diplomacy" and "Unicorn Shave Your Horn" are just the band messing around and having a good time.

With a sound somewhere that punk and alternative rock lovers alike can appreciate, the "To The Confusion Of Our Enemeies" is a solid addition to any rocker's collection.

HASH(0x8c3f6234) out of 5 stars Very good stuff 25 April 2007

I'm kinda corn-fused why some people are rating this so low? Sure, it sounds different then their previous releases. Sure it's a bit more "polished" then previous releases. But that's not to say that this isn't a darn fine slab of rock. Great writing, big hooks, lightning quick guitars. What's not to love? I'd give it 4 1/2 stars, but one doesn't exist, so 4 it is.

A quick recap on any and all who were 'put off' when this record was released...It doesn't sound exactly like the previous record. Why would I want to buy the same record over again? To the Confusion picks up the baton and hits you even harder, the more you listen to these songs, the more you can truly appreciate this incredible band...and for those of you fortunate enough to see this band live, hearing "The Art of Getting..." will have you stage diving off the couch in your living room. Buy every copy you can and share with the less fortunate. GFFG>
