There is something playing on Gabby’s mind, something wrong with her relationship, a relationship that she isn’t quite ready to give up on, so doing what any suspicious woman is going to do, she sets out to find out what the heck is going on.
But is she really ready for what she finds out?
The minute she stepped through that black door her life was never going to be the same and she had to accept that what her fiancé was doing was far from her primary concern anymore because inside the club, she quickly comes to terms with the fact that this is a life she never knew but one that she is ready to experience.
Her introduction to Darion is the catalyst to a release that she never knew possible. They start to see each other, despite the fact that Darion gives her fair warning of what getting involved not only with him but also his lifestyle is likely to entail, but she is a woman on an enlightening mission now and with absolute resolve she is determined to embrace the freedom that a relationship with Darion can bring.
While I liked the fact that he was willing to give her a heads up on just what she could expect from him, but I loved the fact that she was strong enough to not give a da*n and to refuse to back away.
The speed with which the connection between the two of them took off was addictive, he let her in on his life and each time there was an element that it might just be too much, I wondered if she was going to bail on what they had going on but each time she absorbed everything he had told and shown her and she dug in, she wanted as much as he was willing to give her. The boundaries that she had lived by until she met Darion were disintegrated, completely blown to smithereens and it was absolutely glorious!

I won this book on a Facebook giveaway. This is the first book I have read by this author and it definitely won’t be the last. The book is amazing filled with passionate sex taking Gabi to face a world out of her element.
Gabriella Woods (Gabi) is engaged to Lawrence who is 10 years older than her and after 7 years he has sucked her own personality out of her. She thinks he’s cheating on her because he comes home from work late all the time and generally ignores her constantly. She finds a match book to a gentleman’s club called The Black Door so she goes to ask if anyone there has seen him. That’s where her life changes. She makes friends with the girls that work there and encounters Darion Milano the owner of the club. He is sexy as sin and there’s an instant spark between them. They start a relationship solely based on sex. She feels more confident than she has in years but Darion’s sexual lifestyle will take her out of her comfort zone and wants her running for the hills. But she is addicted to him and has fallen in love with even though he warned her not to get her feelings involved because she’d end up hurt. Gabi feel insecure of Damion’s ex-wife because she can give him the life he wants.
Darion is lonely he drinks and uses emotionless sex to cover the fact that he was burnt by his ex-wife Eva. He can have any woman he wants at the snap of his fingers. He’s been fine living with no strings attached until Gabi comes into his club she’s sexy but quite shy but he wants her. He’s soon dragging her into his lifestyle but he’s not sure if she can handle it and he doesn’t want to change for anyone. He loves Gabi but he has major trust issues. When life seems that it can’t get any better his ex comes back on to the scene.

This book is written in dual POV starring Gabi and Darion. Gabi is in a passionless relationship with an older man while Darion is the chain smoking strip club owner that is still licking his wounds from a failed marriage. While, at the beginning, you would think that the two had nothing in common, their sexual chemistry is undeniable.

At some points you find yourself wondering why any girl would want to be with a guy like Darion. He bangs his employees and might have a bit of a drinking problem. Call me an old-fashioned gal, but I like a bit of restraint and romance in my life. Still, he’s the guy who will push you up against a wall with no problem and show you his bag of tricks in en elevator. Did I mention he’s a hot hard-body with some sweet rides? That always helps. Gabi needs a guy like him to shake up her boring life. She’s like a bird in a gilded cage and Darion’s wild personality is just the thing to bring her back to life.

As far as erotica goes, Valentine does a good job of still giving the reader a satisfying storyline. Sometimes the pacing is too fast, but overall there weren’t any issues of understanding the plot, or the characters. While it’s not all roses and candle light, it’s gritty and real. Relationships aren’t always clean cut and charming and you can see this through Darion and Gabi’s twisting relationship. It’s messy as heck and full of real-life drama that people can relate with, even if they don’t want to admit it.

I would recommend this book to first time erotica readers. It’s not too dirty and has a plot that really gets you involved. While you can understand the motivations of the characters, you never really know how their lives will play out. His Confession was full of curve balls and steamy moments that makes it worth a read.
