The story continues, and this is the problem, it would have been better to have only released the omnibus edition which contains all three books. Some serials, note I have not called it a series, can be read as single novels or in any sequence but this serial does not work read like that. Without giving away too much of the plot it continues from the previous book without prologue or introduction and continues the adventures of Reza as he returns to the human realm most of the book explores Reza's relationships and his joining the marines. Again a well written book which is interspersed with action there is a background of conspiracy at high levels of government. The author does not play for time by adding extra detail when he want to he just moves forward e.g "six years later". Apart from the beginning and towards the end of this book the Kreelans do not feature much in this book. As with the previous book it ends on a cliff hanger.

There are three sets of these books and every single one of them is wonderfully written. Michael R Hicks introduces a great number of characters but every single one of them is memorable and well described. The world of the Kreelans is so real, as is their ethos, and Ichiro and Reza, when you get to them, are wonderful. Within the books there are very strong women as well and Desh-Ka and Esah-Zhurah will grab your heart too, as will Michelle and Jodi. I have read other books of the same ilk but these are the best I've come across. I'm waiting for the next instalment so am re-reading them and find that there is much I missed the first time round, due in no part to the 'I can't put this book down' sensation. I would thoroughly recommend every single book.

I have read the first series 'The Last War' and was fascinated by the story line and fighting with the kreelans and was very much looking forward to reading the next series 'Redemption'. I have just started the 3rd book 'Final battle' and have to say that I am total enthralled with the characters especially Reza and the story line. I have cried reading the 1st and 2nd book in this series so far and no doubt will cry again reading the 3rd book. I will definitely recommend this series to all my friend who will no doubt fall in love with Reza and the other characters as I have. Thank you for an amazing read.

After reading the free book one, book two was an inevitable purchase. In fact I bought books two and three a the same time and was not disappointed.

The Story of Reza Gard Continues after his expulsion from the Kreelan Empire. After his return to Human occupied space, he has to adapt back in normal life, which is not easy for someone who has not seen another human since he was a small boy on the orphan planet from where he was taken by the Kreelans; his only possession is a silver cross given to him by a girl whose life he had once saved and a letter from a former army colonel.
Reza Is not trusted and is seen as a misfit by many, but some see him as he really is and become loyal and trusted friends. Together they fight the Kreelans and those of the Human Race who would use this alien in a human skin to further their own lust for power and greed.

If you have not read the previous trilogy, then do that first (the first book is free!). I don't think you will be disappointed.

I have read all of the books that proceed this book, they are all good. This book when Reza comes back to Human space is good as ir shows the conflict in him between the cultures he is in. Redemption series can be read as a three book set but best to read all the In Her Name books in sequence.

Book 2 of the Redemption series and we follow Reza as he leaves the Kreelans behind to begin his life with the Confederation forces as a marine.

The tale focuses mainly on Reza as he moves through training as a marine, and concentrates on his relationships with his marine colleagues, but also a couple of female's who have played a role in his life.

The Kreelans dont really feature much, although the final few chapters where they do are perhaps the best part of the book.

I suppose it's always going to be a personal preference with book reading, for me this series has really captured my interest, and although the main focus of my interest at first was the Kreelans I find that I really enjoyed the storyline with Reza, and I'm sure that in the third installment this will continue, although hopefully with a bit more action involving the Kreelans.

While, in my opinion, not as strong as 'Empire' this is still a fantastic read which continues the was with the Kreelans.

I felt that this book suffered from having not as much story based on the Kreelans and focusing on the confederation.

Saying that, this is still an excellent read and I highly recommend this book.

I urge reading this series from the beginning, but this second book in the second trilogy of this story continues with the story of Reza, the child who was abducted by aliens and forced to adopt their warrior ways. Reza is now fully grown and warrior priest, who has decided to return to humanity to fight the aliens who trained him. On the face of it this sounds unlikely but the way the story has unfolded up till now explains this, hence... start at the beginning.
