Product Description

When her slimy boyfriend Danny (Peter Brown) uses his unsuspecting girlfriend Elizabeth (Tracy Bregman) to carry a stash of cocaine in her skis, she's caught by airport security. Following a speedy trial, she is sent for punishment to a correctional institution for women in California where she rapidly learns that she must toughen up if she hopes to survive and leave prison in one piece. Elizabeth discovers that the warden (Jill St. John) is not only cruel and sadistic but in cahoots with a nasty inmate Cat (Barbara Luna) the prison's "queen bee", who is in fact her partner in a prison drug and prostitution racket. Elizabeth witnesses a murder committed by Cat and her henchwomen, spurning her attentions they become enemies. This is the story of one woman's fight for survival and justice for the hell in which she finds herself.

The girlfriend of a drug runner is unknowingly used as a drugs mule and gets arrested and locked up for trying to smuggle cocaine, she is is put into a tough womans prison and has to deal with the mental cases ,junkies.murderers and sex cons on her landing. Tough no holds barred film well worth a view.

I remember The Concrete Jungle from back in the '80s on VHS. It is a solidly-directed, not terribly prurient WIP movie featuring a very standard story for the genre. Some of the more violent scenes (which are not terribly violent by contemporary WIP cinema standards) have been inexplicably edited in this DVD version. That is a shame, as for me they are the classiest part of the film. This knocks one star off of my rating here. Look for appearances by top martial arts stuntwomen Susan Mechner and a young Karen Sheperd.

I enjoyed this dvd and would recommend it to anyone. Okay its all about the inside of a woman's prison but there is good storylines in the film. I am fan of Peter Brown and in this film he plays (although a small part) of the naughty but nice Danny. Worth buying this dvd.
