It appears to be useful to create a basic cartoon strip but, if the intent is to use this as a starting point, I worry it uses too many short-cuts.
Each page is printed in panels of different bright colours which soon give you a headache and make the type very difficult to read.
I thought I could pop in the CD and straight away start producing cartoons. However, the author treats the reader as if they were already Photoshop users.
It's as if somebody who had never driven a car, went to a driving instructor, and was told, 'When you change down from fourth, you don't have to engage third - you can go straight into second but remember to blip the brakes for a few seconds before engaging the clutch.' What?
This book is like that. When you're following a tutorial and you want to know how to do something, the author says 'and do it like in previous instructions.'
On p.14 'creating a simple cartoon panel' there is no clear explanation about Layers in Photoshop and how Layers behave, and if you follow the 'instructions' you will give up because they don't work.
I figured out how to do the stuff in the book by playing around with Photoshop on my own, but for a novice not familiar with computer programs - forget this book, and look elsewhere.
