Annabelle is looking for a job. The only one she did have was in a McDonalds, so going for a PA job to a company boss is a bit of a jump. Then when she sees him and he sees her, well, that's where the complications start.

Annabelle is having a bad time of it lately. She left Uni and ended up working at McDonalds. After being late one too many times, she has the bad day from hell and tells them what they can do with their poxy job.

Her aunts being helping with her bills but she needs a job -soon. She goes to interview at Lynn Publishing as a PA. She meets some of the other candidates and feels a bit out of her depth. Then she meets Joshua Lynn.... sex on a stick, gorgeous and..her boss.

Josh is having no luck finding a decent PA to take over from his retiring rock. But when he meets Annabelle, he gets s shock - literally. She is a breath of fresh air and ruthlessly honest about her lack of experience. Both are attracted to each other. When she gets the job, she and her friend Tracey go out to celebrate and bump into Josh. The flirting ramps up and Annabelle cant believe it when they end up sleeping together. But in the cold light or morning Joshua realises that they have to work together and erects a frosty façade.

There follows a steady paced reconnection between them as colleagues and eventually more. But there is a viper in the nest. Tammy, Josh's ex, is not exactly nice about things and longs to put Annabelle in her place.

What follows is an emotional, occasionally funny, always fascinating look at their relationship, those around them and what they mean to each other. They face heartbreak and the chance to make a clean break of things when danger isn't far away. Will they take it? Will they weather the storm and make this complicated affair into a straight forward love for the ages?

I loved this book and read it in one fell swoop, with stops for tea!! There was suspense and tons of passion!!

Annabelle is down on her luck, needing a job as soon as possible she goes for an interview at Lynn Publishing. Annabelle hasn’t had an easy life she lost her parents when she was nine and she went to live with her Aunt. Annabelle is after her happy ever after but can’t quite get there. Until she meets Joshua Lynn totally sexy and gorgeous and her boss. Both are attracted to each other instantly. After her interview Annabelle gets the call shes been waiting for..shes got the job and goes out celebrating with her friend Tracey to a new club.Annabelle cant believe her eyes when Joshua is also at the club, they flirt and drink way to much and end up sleeping together, mad hes broken his own rules of not getting involved with employees Joshua abruptly leaves leaving Annabelle confused and wondering how shes ever going to face him at work.Joshua is cold and distant Annabelle is trying to keep her head down and do her job but the heart wants what the heart wants and they want each other.Annabelle thinks Joshua is back with Tammy she also went for the job and was once involved with Joshua, she has no intentions of letting him go without a fight. When something happens that brings Annabelle and Joshua together they decide to give their relationship a go but trouble and possibly danger isnt far away just how far will Tammy go to keep Joshua for herself?

Annabelle is down on her luck, looking for a new job after being let go from McDonalds. Joshua Lynn is looking for a New PA after his current one is due to retire. After an interesting first encounter, they meet later in a club. Sparks fly and the story takes off.

I loved Annabelle from the beginning but I wasn't sure about Joshua at first. He definitely redeems himself though. I loved Tracy (Annabelle's best friend). She has a lot of sass and is the best friend every girl needs/wants. The book has so many twists and turns but it us definitely worth the read. The relationship between Annabele and Joshua is a hot hot hot one and I totally love how these two fit together.

Definitely a 5 star debut from D M Midgley - well done!

A Complicated Love is the debut novel by author D.M. Midgley and it doesn't disappoint.

Annabelle was living life, but only just, then as luck would have it she loses the only job that was sustaining her. She applies for a position with Lynn publishing and right from the instant she meets the intoxicating Mr Lynn (Joshua) and she is attracted to him. While Mr Lynn realizes that Annabelle doesn't have any experience what-so-ever he still employs her.

Joshua is also attracted to Annabelle, but because of his no fraternization rules within his company he does something that was really unforgivable. I had mixed feelings about Joshua at the start, but he redeems himself later on. I don't like to give away the story-line so I will leave it at that, you have to read it to find out, but it's definitely worth the read.

Annabelle has a BFF Tracy, who is adorable and I love her sass. They live together and they have a very close bond. Annabelle also has an Aunt in her life, Sylvia and she is adorable. Their bond is as close as mother and daughter.

There is a lot of ups and downs in this story and I really enjoyed it. Whilst it is a shorter story, it really has a lot going on. I give this debut novel five golden stars, well done D.M. Midgley on producing a great story.
