Wow this is the second book in the 5th Avenue series. Abbie has out done herself with this book. You will need a box of tissues ready. This book is a definite roller coaster of emotions from the start to finish, like the first book this isn't the end, you will be left with more questions than answers. As with the first book it's well written with well rounded characters. Ian in my opinion is an idiot, but then again Chelsie isn't blame free in how some things happen, especially with Oliver. I,was frustrated and wanted to shake them to there senses.
This is Abbie St.claire at her very best. I need to get my hands on the next book!
“I crave entangled moments with you. I’ll master plan them for the rest of our lives.”
“Divine wasn’t a complicated word, yet no one had ever used it to describe me. But the way it rolled off his tasty tongue and perched upon my ears made it a delicate keepsake I wanted to wrap up in a locket and wear forever.”
“He’d lost his ever-lovin’ mind if he thought Carson would ever play nice. He didn’t understand the bitterness in a divorce and co-parenting, but if he wanted to speak with Carson, perhaps he needed a crash course on ex-husband nastiness, and I believe Carson took the class ten times.”
“Carson had never been that agreeable with me. In fact, he tried harder to be an ass when being peaceful would’ve taken less energy.”
“You complete my brokenness in ways I never knew possible, and I can’t imagine my life without you in it.”
“She had the stature that resembled lots of mean girl experience on her resume.”
“As painful as it is, sometimes life doesn’t explain itself, so you have to wait for history to do all the talking.”
I love/hate Abbie St. Claire right now. I am totally addicted to this series and my girl has left me high and dry with a wicked cliffhanger. ARRGG! Complicated on 5th Avenue is full of humor, blended family drama, and delicious steam. Then bugger, a series of tragedies hit that devastated the main characters and me as an addicted reader. Ms. St. Claire has me intrigued, captivated, caught in her web, and hopelessly addled by her story. I am beyond concerned and ready to howl as I don’t see mention of when the next in the series is to appear – and I must have the closure – inquiring minds what to know! Ms. St. Claire is a sneaky temptress and tease – but I am a die-hard fan-girl and have the utmost faith (typing while on my knees begging) that she will pull out all the stops with Book 3.
I received this arc in exchange for an honest review.
OMG. at you think it's going to continue in the snuggly vain things were in just before the end of 'Conflicted' Just like the first one, you're sucked in... This one starts out smooth, with little ripples, then wham!! You're completely the other way around and not knowing which way is up. I could cry with one character, rage at another and laugh with joy at other moments all while thinking 'what happens next?'
I really, really hope things work out the them the way they are meant to...
