In 2009 I begin saying to the Lord, I Want To Be Whole. I believe the Lord, brought this back to my remembrance this year.
As I was on line reading a devotional, I saw this book, I read a chapter and decided I needed to order this book. I highly recommend it . The book is an easy read, very practical, thought provoking, life changing.
Ms. Harper uses her personal experiences to guide the reader to use specific bible verses and themes that will enhance the reader's spiritual journey towards becoming, COMPLETELY WHOLE. Contemporary situations that are sure to be recognizable & personal to each reader on some level are covered with simplicity. The reader is given practical explanations and uplifting solutions.

The use of bible verses from the Amplified Bible provide clear proof that our God is with us throughout our journeys & provides the answers if we are willing to listen.

I agree with Tamarra Bryant, Literary Wonders Reviews statement, "<em>COMPLETELY WHOLE</em>" is a guide one can refer to over and over again during times of need. Ms. Harper's grasp of real life and her method of dealing with these situations truly make this guide a learning tool that can be used over and over again".
Paulette Harper's book called "<em>Completely Whole</em>" is encouraging and empowering. Her book teaches us about becoming emotionally, spiritually and physically healed by applying the basic principles of the Bible in our life. It gives hope to its readers as it demonstrates that one can overcome the past to live victoriously in the future.
We read in John 5:1-9 of a sick man who had lain at the pool of Bethesda for years, waiting to be healed. As Jesus passed by, He asked the man "Wilt thou be made whole?" The man began to explain all of the reasons that he wasn't whole and well. Jesus told the man to `Rise, take up thy bed, and walk' and immediately the man was made whole.
"<em>Completely Whole</em>" reminds us that God not only wants us to receive the gift of salvation but wants to deliver us from obstacles and bondages so that we can be "whole" in every aspect of our daily lives. Completely Whole demonstrates that the Lord is interested in our problems and He desires that you be not just healed but whole. Whether you are a seasoned person or new believer let God use these pages to assist you in your walk towards wholeness. I highly recommend this book to all the men and women who choose to walk in the abundant life and to be free from the negative past and to walk in victory.

"Oftentimes, many people try to seek fulfillment from money, relationships, accomplishments, or material things. Others choose to cope with difficult problems by using drugs or alcohol, but often they come up short and soon have to realize that such things do not bring true happiness and fulfillment in life. How then can we successfully solve the problems that we face and find true happiness and peace in our lives?" Paulette Harper
Stop and reflect on the previous statement and closing question for a moment. The author listed a number of things that people try and find their fulfillment or happiness in but as she rightly stated and has effectively communicated in her book, Completely Whole, none of the things she mentioned or anyone or anything else for that matter other than a relationship with God and his son Jesus Christ will totally satisfy you and make you completely whole. Author Harper answers the closing question with the bold truth - the truth that sets people free - and that is the truth that by having a living and meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ, they can be made completely whole.
Author Harper breaks the book down into 13 different chapters. In the 13 chapters of her book she shares from Scriptures, from her personal life experience as well as from the experiences of others how a person's broken and defeated life can be transformed into a completely whole and victorious life. It was like someone shared with me once when she saw my profile about being a "brain tumor survivor" and she pointed me in a different and in the right direction I might add, and that is to being a brain tumor overcomer. And that is what the author is communicating with us as the reader...we don't have to be who we are, living as we are and doing the things we are doing if we are willing to make new decisions and think new thoughts centered around the person of Jesus Christ and His word.
At the end of each chapter author Harper shares both a prayer and a confession and both are equally important. And she puts them in right priority - pray first and then make your confession based on the Word of God, the Word of faith and prayer and then stand back and see the transformation of your life by the Lord. I guess this book is supposed to be a woman's book and Paulette is a popular women's conference/retreat speaker but truth is truth and in this case what is good for the goose is certainly good for the gander - meaning that both women and men can benefit from what is written in author Harper's book.
In the first 4 chapters of her book author Harper lays the essential foundation so we will be able to understand and personalize what is in the other 9 chapters. For example in chapter 5 she writes about how the Lord's forgiveness has made us whole...and it does. In chapter 6 she shares about how God's love has made us whole, Chapter 7 about how God's Word has made us whole, and chapter 8 how faith in the Lord has made us whole. In Chapter 9 she shares about how we "rise" out of our negative and defeating circumstances to a life of wholeness and victory in and through the person and power of Jesus Christ. In Chapter's 1- through 12 she writes about what being completely whole looks like when it is manifested in our lives and it is so awesome. And she concludes her book in Chapter 13 with a short, to the spiritual point, checklist of Scriptures and Biblical Truths that inform us in Christ we have lacked nothing and will lack nothing. WOW! If you only read chapter 13 of the book and internalized it to where you were thinking it, believing it and living it...man...talk about living a different kind of life. You would be living as the book is titled a life that truly is "Completely Whole."
If you are longing for spiritual freedom and wholeness this book would be a helpful and insightful book for you to read...but don't you just buy it and set it on a shelf somewhere in your home or buy it and read it and think to yourself, "that's nice" and move on with your life as you were before you read the book. No, read it as though you were feasting on a meaty, juicy delicious steak. Read it slowly and thoughtfully. Take time to allow what you are reading to go deep into to your mind and soul and let them absorb it and then watch as God begins to transform your life and make you "Completely Whole."
