It starts off with an introduction into human biology and healthy lifestyle, including tips on exercise, diet and how to trace genetic inheritance through your family.
It then moves on to some very simple flow charts that you following depending upon your 'condition' ie) tiredness (there are many 'conditions') it runs you through a series of yes/no answers until diagnosis. I 'cheated' on a few conditions that I am familiar with and in general when the last step may say "consult your doctor". This is usually when a medicine degree would be required thus unsuitable to diagnose as an amateur from a book.
Once you have found your likely diagnosis it explains what it is, who is likely to get it, why, what you can do about it, the problems it causes, medication etc....what more can you realistically expect from a book?
This is going to become a very useful guide for the family and may even save potentially wasted time visiting the doctor for something that may be easily treatable at home.
A good purchase and very comprehensive coverage of a lot of conditions covering, as far as I can make out, almost every thing that could possibly go wrong with you!

This is a really super book detailing just about every illness, symptoms and remedies all explained. I just wish I had bought a paperback version as it is very heavy.Published on 9 Aug. 2013 by Lacey
At a time when infortmation is given in a more understandable way this book has taken a step backwards. It is less easy to use than it's predecessor for checking symptoms.Published on 27 May 2013 by Mr.Andrew H Sanderson
