I admit it. I'm a new-age aficionado. I've probably read more books on more new-age subjects - especially things psychic - than any other physical-state being on Earth. That's why I feel compelled to spread the good news about this amazing book. Though the word "idiots" adorns its cover, its content is decidedly skewed to the intelligent reader of "How-to" and "Guide-to" literature. Ms.Robinson's fresh, candid, down-to-earth approach to an historically vague and mysterious subject is so remarkable, it almost seems like the first readable book ever written on the subject. Take my word for it, the history is fascinating and inviting, the advice is supportive and commonsensical, and the exercises are easy and meaningful. All in all, "Being Psychic" is more than an exceptional book; it's a rewarding experience that can literally change your life. In case you haven't guessed yet, I wholeheartedly recommend this wonderful book, and I congratulate Lynn A. Robinson, her co-author, and MacMillan Publishing for presenting it to the world. Thank you.

I'm absolutely astonished! How did a book this good get a title this idiotic? Being Psychic is simply the best of its kind, and even though it seems to be selling well according to your ranking system, it should be flying off the shelves into the hands and minds of all the people I know who are yearning for a book this good on a subject this exotic. Yearn no more, friends. You've found the book and it is orange. In fact, it's been right there in front of you since January of 99, but you haven't picked it up because of its orange-ness and its title. I strongly urge you to locate the book, squint your eyes, grab it off the shelf and go directly to the cashier, after which you can rip off the offending cover and dig into some of the best, most informative, and yes -- most entertaining -- writing you've ever read on being psychic. I totally agree with the reviewer who said he or she enjoyed it even more the second time around. Am I a fan of this book? Yes. Do I want to share the riches that are in this book? Yes. Will you really enjoy this book that can actually enhance your life in surprising ways? Well, as it says on the back cover -- "You're no idiot..." Which is another way of saying "Forget the title, ignore the color, and buy the book." You're gonna love it.

Over the last few years I have read 4 or 5 books on psychic training with limited success. I decided to buy this book after hearing it mentioned on a radio program and can truthfully say that it goes way past the limited scope of the other books I have read. To be honest, I have experienced MIRACLES since applying the excercises in this book and my life is changing for the better in so many ways. Suffice to say, I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone interested in the genre.
OUTSTANDING!

I think if the history books I studied in school had been asinteresting and even-handed as this one, I'd have aced every history course I took. I really like the unbiased way the authors present their admittedly exotic material. There's always the possibility for confusing "presentation" with "endorsement." (See review below.) But if you're awake when you read the book, you not only won't have that problem, you'll actually enjoy it. History is only a small part of this hugely helpful "textbook." Read and heed the life-enhancing exercises, (as I and my family did) and you'll find that before you know it, you'll be writing a wonderful new chapter in your personal history.

Every so often a book appears that is not only fun to read, but richly rewarding as well. This delightful guide to being psychic is just such a book. Author Lynn A. Robinson has peeled away the centuries-old layers of misinformation and hype from this ancient and re- discovered subject, and has presented it in a fun reality-based approach that makes it's application practical, easy-to-learn, and confidence building. Though she's been a practicing psychic (she prefers "intuitive") for more than half her life, she downplays the predictive aspect of her profession and writes with passion about using one's intuition as a powerful guide to making positive and appropriate choices in life. This approach is appealing, even to a skeptic like me, but I can easily see this book becoming an immensely valuable tool for people who pursue the "enlightened" path, as well. Even if your mother told you not to mess around with that stuff; even if you're writing a book denouncing all things paranormal; and especially if you scoff at new age phenomena like psychic hotlines, you owe it to yourself to buy this book. The least you'll get from it is a good, informative read. And who knows? You may even get to be psychic. Two thumbs up.

After reading this wonderfully entertaining book, I now know what those "gut feelings" I've had throughout my life were all about. I also now understand those "hunches" and "flashes of insight" that I rarely took advantage of. Lynn Robinson makes it all clear, and throws in some intriguing history and fun exercises along the way. From now on, I'm taking her strong suggestion to heed the hints and nudges I get from my inner guide. I wish I'd had her wise counsel and friendly, practical advice when I was still in high school and thinking about becoming a writer...I might be reviewing my own book today instead of her's.
