Review

One of the best self-help books available today. This book has almost all the ingredients to strengthen our personality as it trains our mind. Remember, this book and in fact any similar book is only fruit-full if you take action..!! --Avneesh Singh Saini May 8, 2014

I have just finished reading this book. It's a master piece indeed. Harry Lorayne is a prowess in field's of memory training. But the way he explains life situations is excellent. He practically teaches you to to be a smart kicker. What else you need then? --Arijit Biswas Aug 20, 2012

Great reading!!!!! Never thought simple things such as the ones described here could be so important! A book that overturned my thoughts and perception. Only after finishing it off could i put it down. Simple english and great narration by the author on topics you never would have guessed holding you back. --Vivek Thangarajan Apr 25, 2012 --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

This is the definite article where memory is concerned. A great system that really works when applied in the real word. Great for remebering just about anything, names, lists, numbers 50 digits long, speeches, playing card memory. I used the systems in the book and think anyone using these systems will have a super power memory in no time. The second half of the book, the secrets of mind power is a practical self improvment type of book. Its nothing special in my opinion but not bad. The first book on memory is the best i have ever read and consider this a great buy as it does what is says it can. 5 stars on the first book, 2 1/2 stars the self improvment book (second half of book)

To be honest this book isn't All bad. The few memory techniques he teaches are applicable, but already having knowledge of these techniques I suppose I was expecting a lot more with all of the ratings and reviews shown below. They were all of the good points I could find. Now for negatives.

The entire book seems to be a conglomoration of all the other books he has written jammed into one... The only problem is that he doesn't actually go into any detail for anything!
He states many things in the book with no advice or guide as to how to carry these out. It's along the lines of;
"People struggle to concentrate at work. The key is to concentrate at work"

I also bought "Page A Minute Memory" and have noticed that he has just cut and paste huge sections of each book into each other.

If you want a memory book buy one of his memory books, as this feels like nothing but a second hand self help book, with very little self help.

Format: Hardcover
Secrets of mind power by Harry Lorayne.
Included in this book:
How to remember any number of facts in any order you chose.
The secret of approaching people so that they invariably like you.
A simple test for determining whether you are a success.
How to see in everyday things what other people miss.
The 24-Hour method of breaking any habit - no matter how bad - and much, much more!
So the question most of us would be asking, after reading these claims, I wonder?
This was the same question that I asked when I picked up this book. Well I can tell you that after reading this book I am really impressed, and for me this is not easy....It has really motivated me to use my mind to it's full potential and also by applying the techniques in this book I have been able to turn my whole life around.
Harry Lorayne has written a number of other books besides this one and they are also excellent. My personal favourite is the Magic book. The book 'Secrets of mind power' has also been recommended on a reading list by Derren Brown who recently did a programme for Channel 4 called 'Mind Control', and he certainly knows all about the power of the mind.
Secrets of mind power by Lorayne is an excellent book. It is very well written and it's an extremely easy read. The information contained between it's covers is priceless. Make sure you get a copy if you are interested in utilising the magnificent computer we all have inside of us, the human mind.

Right from the start you get the impression that some of the ideas being discussed are simple and should be appreciated by everyone. However , you immediately see how most of us give excuses and not follow them leading to an under utilisation of the power of our mind. It is a real eye opener. Fantastic when you begin to apply the suggestions!

I read the two reviews for this book and thought yeah - why not try it. Simply out of curiosity. From the first three pages, I realised that this has truly been the best author I have ever read. Harry is a public speaker by profession, and by reading the book, he was actually talking to me rather than me reading. He knew not too drag on about things un-important and he knew when to write more about things of further interest. I was making notes when I first started reading but then I thought no - I don't want to make notes. I want to read and re-read the book again when I've finished. He is an AMAZING author if anything. I read a lot, but I wish more authors were like him. I truly did not want to finish reading it at the time because it was so enjoyable. I wish I could meet the guy in real life and just talk to him as he is so inspirational. If I left with one word of advice, it is to read this book!
