Top Customer Reviews

I can't believe this book isn't easily available. It is by far the best dinosaur book I've found. And so cheap! It is a big book with lots and lots of excellent clear pictures and diagrams.

I wanted a book that listed all the dinosaurs by name with really clear pictures - this was surprisingly difficult as most books seem disjointed and random.

There are some other good ones:

Usborne spotter guide to dinosaurs Dinosaurs (Usborne Spotter's Guide)
Usborne spotter guide sticker book Dinosaurs (Usborne Spotters' Sticker Guides)

and the Dorling Kingsley e-explore series Dinosaur is very informative and goodDinosaur (E. Explore) Which turns out to be written by Dixon as well - he obviously is very good!

There is another book very similar to this one by Dixon The Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs: A Unique Illustrated Guide to 275 Best-known Dinosaurs of the World, Shown in More Than 200 Amazing Scientific Illustrations but I picked this one as it seems a bit more grown-up and informative.

but back to this book...

This book is very comprehensive and beautifully illustrated with CLEAR pictures - not random head or leg shots! It also contains a hefty section on general dinosaur info: Where they came from... how we learn about them... how they lived... etc.
