The yellow ink had to be replaced on my Brother DCP-J132W printer and so I inserted this compatible yellow ink. My printer did not recognise this ink cartridge and would not print. I tried this several times sometimes inserting it slowly, sometimes with more pressure etc but still no response. I don't understand how some people got this to work on their printer but it wouldn't work on mine. I had to buy the original brother yellow ink and this worked fine with no problems recognising the cartridge. Whereas this compatible set would be very good value if they worked - I just wish they worked on mine!!!

Bought this set of ink cartridges when I purchased a Brother DCP-J132W wireless inkjet printer based on some existing reviews for this product.
After 2 months, it was time to change the ink.

Slotted the required ink cartridges in but the printer was not picking up that the cartridges were in place. No matter what I did, these cartridges would not work.

I ended up going online and discovered that there could be some issue with the microchip on these not working on the Brother printer. Depending on what you read, some blamed the cartridges while others blamed Brother.

After a bit of reading online, I found out that if you take the microchip from the old cartridges (which will have come with the Brother printer) and put them over the microchip on these, then you will get them to work. A bit of fiddling has to be done and you need to make sure that the microchip is sitting in place or else the printer won't read it. Not exactly the best way to get an ink cartridge to work but in my case it is doing what is required.

I've given three stars because they are working, the ink quality is good but should I really have had to be messing about with microchips? I don't think so.

I'll be carrying out some more research when it comes to purchasing new ink cartridges although I suppose I know what I need to do with these if I decide to buy them again.

I bought these for my printer at work as our despatch had used the compatibles from Moreinks for their Brother printer, different model to mine, and theirs worked absolutely fine. These inks, whilst they work ok, are not recognised by the printer and it keeps telling me they're not there and also I got them all over my fingers when trying to install them, no similar problems with the Moreinks compatibles so I have not re-ordered these compatibles since and have reverted to the originals.

Genuine Brother inks are perhaps some of the most expensive inks on the market today. Many argue that they deliver the best print quality, explaining the price. HOWEVER: These inks prove that quality doesn't necessarily mean expense. Running a small business that relies on printing to deliver information to clients, we need a product that delivers quality at a small price. These cartridges are very easy to install, Go Inks dispatched these WITHIN 1 HOUR OF US ORDERING THEM, and they arrived within 48hrs of dispatch with STANDARD DELIVERY. The inks last as long, if not longer than the genuine inks, and as stated before, you really can't tell the difference.

The only exception would be when printing photos, and then darker colours tend to blend together, but bright colours are absolutely fine.

worked for a bit but then started being not detected. Unfortunately, in my experience of many hours of frustration trying to get non-genuine cartridges to work including these and £30 worth of 'refillable ones' youre a fool if you go down this route. The original ones are the only ones where the firmware is updated as they come out. The printer, unbeknownst to many, actually updates its firmware through its wireless connection, making ANY non-originals redundant. I found this to my (financial) peril. These became redundant. The refillables became redundant. Any ones that arent original become redundant. I cant state it more simply than that. Any reviews that go along the lines of 'oh, these work brilliantly! and so much cheaper!' is because these 'chipped' ones have played caught-up with firmware that will be changed in a month/week/day anyway - if youre lucky youll be able to print with them for a bit, but yes, they will become redundant once the new firmware comes out, which it will, be in no doubt about that. Youll be left with unusable cartridges, yet again. Dont listen to the hype. The originals are half the price of most other printers' anyway. Thats the route im going down. And boy, is it easier.

Try, try and try again and again.
Brother DCP-J132W doesn't want to know any of the black ink ones, even after trying all tricks known on you tube.
My guess is the 'compatible' means they fit the hole.

I bought these at the same time as the Brother DCP-J132W printer as being compatible. The printer doesn't recognise them and asks me to reinstall - several times- it might print 1 page and then I have to go through the whole process again. You can see that the chip pattern does not exactly match the original. I really don't have the time to be doing this, especially as the printer is in a different part of the house.
