I like this book because it satisfies the need of the novice.

There is no excuse now for not knowing who was who or which battle took place where.

The book is well laid out, colourfully illustrated and easily accessible. Handy hints even include where to have a snack.

I recommend this book for all who will never have the time to investigate the Wars of the Roses in depth but would like to know enough to satisfy their curiosity and to understand what took place at all those little 'crossed swords' on the OS maps!

I wish all guides were written and constructed as intelligently as this one. For the tourist quick and easy to get essential information, good character profiles, casualty lists, very nice illustrations. I would highly recommend this fantastic book to anyone beginner or like myself who has read and studied the period for a considerable length of time. A really good read and quick reference guide I can't stop picking it up.

I chose this book as, like many people at the moment, I'm watching 'The White Queen' and the history of the War of the Roses, and wanted more information as my maternal family were Lancastrians, and one of them married a lady from Yorkshire. Also, I've visited York and love the area, and I'd like to move around the Country visiting the sites mentioned in this book.
An excellent book to pick up and read as and when the need takes you, and full of interesting information. Definitely a book to keep and not give away later. I'm passing it on to my grandchildren who live in America so that they can take in a little of their English heritage.
