Tiamat are, without a doubt, the most underrated band in the world. Ever. There are about 3 below-average tracks in their entire back catalogue (10 albums!! I don't like Sumerian Cry as it's a bit paint-by-numbers death metal for me, but maybe that's just me) I would argue wih a few of the tracks on this album (I think some of the ones they've missed off are much, much better) but that's just being picky. It's all great stuff. Buy this. Or, better, buy Wildhoney (a Floyd-esque album-long work of genius) and just go from there.
I've never met anyone who doesn't like (at least some of) their music.
In terms of songwriting/ musicianship Tiamat are pretty much unbeatable. A wonderfully eclectic band with as many styles as they have songs.
Highly, highly recommended.
