Austin was gutted when Nikki up and left him. Now she's back, he doesn't know what to do?
He can't run from the fact she's now expecting his child and can't deny his feelings for her.
Can he forgive her for leaving and breaking his heart?
Not to mention strange things have been happening with his company.
Can he find out who is trying to sabotage his work?
This book was filled will drama, mystery and suspense. I was hanging on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. Loved Nikki and Austin's story. I can't wait to read more of this series
When I finished the first book I told the author I won't be able to review this book until I read another book which was in front of hers, but as I was reading that book I wanted to know what happen with this one and my mind keeps coming back to this book. So I do what any other person would do that is read this one.
I really love the plot, I got stuck right into the storyline. I enjoy how you can feel Austin pain over Nikki leaving him and not telling him about her being pregnant or when she might even lose the baby. Austin has every right be angry, I didn't like how he forgive her so quickly after telling us about his backstory. As the characters I like Austin over Nikki with Nikki I didn't think we learn the lot about her character or anything new (yes I can guess she had a bad past - but there is more to everyone than their past), there was no development with her at all. Personal I would have thought we would have seen more of Austin family became this book is about him.
The storyline is better in the story, and the writing it shows me detail of the story and the author put more time into it - and you can see this with the story writing and how long it is. The flashback in this book didn't bother me at all, I know what kind of thing I was getting into after reading book one with this author writing.
It says you can read this as a standalone but I didn't think you should read this as a standalone because you will miss things from the first book. Some of the stuff with () is not needed in the book - personal I would have even taken out the () or what you have put into of it. When I was reading a few some of them sound odd and weird to me.
Austin mum acted completely different in this book, one second she was like herself in book one then the next it like we got a new character. Not sure how I feel about Avery at all in this book.
I do see similar small story ideas between book one and book two, I do hope we don't see this in book three. Or I am not sure if I will keep reading this series - I would like to.
I hope, these series keep the subject what is on like the author been writing about, I like the first two books, enjoy book two more (see reason in my book one review) anyway, as I continue reading this series I hope to see the more serious subject, maybe self-harm, suicidal, depression, mental illness, rape, murder, addictions, body image, etc. I think the author will be good at it if she does it right and doesn't do what she did in book one. And she needs to remember that this stuff does happen, to real people! But if she decided to go in a different way with her serious or different subjects then I will still read her books. (I hope)
(I would like to apologize to everyone who I have upset by listing these subjects above. You are welcome to message me and please remember their is help out their for everyone.)
Austin is shattered when Nikki upped a left months ago until Christmas Day holds not just one shocking secret but two. Will Austin be able to put the hurt aside and help look after Nikki or will he become bitter and push her away.
Nikki left Austin for a reason that scared her, now she has been able to get her head together she is ready to let him in but will he forgive her for hurting him and carry on where they left off.
Once she returns to Carson on Christmas and reveals the secret that sent her running, the whole Connelly family welcome her back with open arms, even Austin seems to be thawing. As there relationship gets more intense, unfortunately there is a black cloud hovering over there happily ever after which they will have to work with the whole town to uncover.
I loved the first book with Avery and Logan but this book lets you peak inside this amazing family, I loved the secondary stories shooting off in all directions and can't wait to read some of these as books of there own. I also love the reference to one of my favourite author's Terri-Anne Browning's Rocker series with her quoting Demon Wings and Nik Armstrong, this just makes me want to re-read this great series.
I have recommended this series to my friend's after the first book, but shout from the roof tops an make sure they definitely read this series. As I said before I can not wait to read the next instalments.
