I absolutely loved it, it is everything it promises to be and the best thing about it for me was the point of view it comes from. Rather than the usual girly jabber it isn't just going to say "all men are worthless, women rock blah, blah". It is centred around Derek, a 30 something with no romantic prospects and throughout the book we see Derek grow and his comedic rendezvous with the opposite sex. I have never heard some of the descriptions in this book and if you don't buy it for anything else, buy it for what happens in the last chapter, I nearly drowned my kindle in coffee!
It's a funny, charming and somewhat dirty book and it really was worth the money. I'm even thinking about buying it in paperback as a present this Christmas. There are a few spelling errors in the book but it's that good that you don't really care. The one that really got me was using "too" instead of "to", that is particularly annoying to me.
A new author to watch and I will definitely be reading more, reviews will always be posted on my blog as well as here.
For the most part, it consist of knob gags made by or about one-dimensional, unbelievable characters. If I could describe the book in one word, that word would most probably be 'grotty'; the level of humour within never rises above the sort of puerile stuff that one would expect to find from a fourteen year-old. This isn't offensive, but nor is it amusing; it's childish. Throw poor spelling and grammar into the mix and you're left with a book to avoid.
Perhaps the warning bells should start ringing when you see a novel feeling the need to signpost its status as 'a quirky comedy' in the title. Hopefully I'll know better next time.
I bought this as it was something different compared to other books out there at the moment and it is extremely close to real life which I enjoyed. Every character I could imagine, as they were not based on the tall, thin and rich and beautiful, it was people that you could relate to and probably actually know a few of them in your own life!
Great author and look forward to many more from them.
I do not recommend this at all.
In fact I deleted it before I was half way through having thought to myself why am I reading this load of rubbish that makes me feel sick - I don't have to do I? After all it was free.

I laughed, I cringed, then laughed some more. Derek's love life is a car crash in slow motion. A bumbling character with a heart of gold, well written and funny.Published 1 month ago by Mr Mark Wall
Was hooked from the start, I'm sure we've all known a Derek at some point in our lives. This storyline had me laughing and crying. Highly recommended.Published 17 months ago by bignbouncy
