Product description

Review

"An inside look at what was certainly a publishing phenomenon, and a period in the lives of hundreds of thousands of youngsters, that is well worth remembering." --Programme Monthly

"I loved this book. Guaranteed to fire up the memory banks and an enjoyable read for anyone with a love for comics. Full of interesting stories and brought back happy memories of my comic reading days... and is packed with stories, reproductions of original drawings and great photos. It's a backstage pass and a revealing insight into the world of comic publishing... full of anecdotes and insider stories. Highly recommended." --OldNDazed.co.uk

"The rush to publish editors' memoirs from the Golden Age of British Comics continues apace, though Barrie Tomlinson can say he was in on the ground floor - last year's Real Roy of the Rover Stuff was one of the first entries in the genre. Now redresses the balance towards the rest of his extensive career." --Judge Dredd Megazine

"No one working in comics who has had a career more varied or interesting than Barrie Tomlinson. A book about the joy of producing comics. You really do feel you're stepping back in time as the book takes tells the story behind those comics and characters that so many of us have grown to love over the years and decades." --DownTheTubes.net

"Follows up [Real Roy of the Rovers Stuff] by roaming through the myriad of titles for which Tomlinson was responsible over the decades, many while a group editor at IPC magazines. How Tiger became one of the most popular sporting comics, and how top celebrities of the day queued up to be part of the scene." --Backpass
