Review

"Transform your life in a matter of ten days. I did." -- Christiane Northrup, M.D.

""Come to Your Senses" works because individuals experience their capacity for success. In fact, we are achieving excellent outcomes with our traumatized combat veterans. I believe Dr. Block's techniques are ushering in a new era of effective treatment." -- Don W. Glover, Ph.D., chief of Mental Health Services at VHA Salt Lake City Health Care System

"A revolutionary guide to harnessing our power to heal our body-mind." -- Mitchell L. Gaynor, M.D., director of Medical Oncology at Cornell University and author of "Sounds of Healing"

""Come to Your Senses" is a unique approach that can change your life. These simple techniques may even save your life!" -- Patrick Ignozzi, producer at ABC Television

Synopsis

Come To Your Senses is revelatory in its simplicity: though rare, there IS such a thing as a quick fix. This book offers readers an elegantly simple and powerful way of achieving a more joyful, natural existence. Instead of trying to discover the deep-seated rationale for our behaviour through undergoing years of psychoanalysis or counselling, Dr. Block, a former Beverly Hills psychoanalyst, has discovered and demystified the Identity System (I-System). He shows readers how easy it can be to free themselves from their own limitations and allow their natural self room to thrive, simply by "coming to our senses" (taste, smell, touch, sight, and sound) and recognising the self-defeating mental tug-of-war that exists in us all. Readers' lives can be transformed in a matter of hours.

This is a great book that I came across totally by accident while googling for something else, and what a stroke of luck that was because this is really a book that I want everyboby to know about and I think it's real shame that more people in this country haven't heard about it. It is US Amazon with very good reviews, so I'm doing my bit for the UK.
This isn't like other self help books, it dioesn't try to solve your poblems with 'answers', it helps you to see beyond the question to a place of limitless peace. It's a very simple, very effective, and permanent way to reduce stress and unhappiness. Please give it a go and spread the word now that the secret is out!

Using as a workbook and processing the information slowly but surely. A must for anyone interested in early age conditioning - a follow on from "The Shame that Binds".

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally understanding the beast within, and learning how to harness and overcome it. 7 Nov. 2016
By Michelle J - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book is awesome. I have a much clearer understanding of what the darn chatterbox in my head is all about. Truly the identity system with the fixer and depressor is the "accuser of the brethren", the "familiar spirit" of the unhealthy people in our lives who influenced us in unhealthy, negative ways. As I learn to observe it with my third eye, recognizing what is going on and learn to use the tools in this book for harnessing the information it gives me, allowing me to emotionally detach from the wild ride of emotions that it stirs up, I can get to a place of acceptance, action and peace. Truly this is how the "dragon is cast out of the heavens." The truth will set us free.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes a difference 29 Mar. 2014
By Ellwood Brown - Published on Amazon.com

Out of hundreds of these type of books I've read, only two really made any significant difference. This one and Wayne Dyer's original Erroneous Zones. Too bad he didn't just stop there but has tried to milk any avenue for another buck. But that's another review. This one meets all it's expectations. If I were buying it again I would get the 2nd edition with the daily steps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buddhist practices - a Western view 19 Mar. 2012
By Rezensent - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
in essence, most if not all of the practices described in this book can also be found in basic Buddhist books - awareness, monitoring your thoughts - not a bad thing, at all.
I have just bought the kindle version of the book and I practically read it in one day.
The practices and exercises are not difficult to apply, which makes the whole book all the more attractive.
There is no demand for daily hours of meditation; all of the "prescriptions" can be done in the normal course of your day, although some may require 5 minutes of your time without interruption. A small price to pay for the promised results, be it understanding yourself better of freeing yourself from the influence of "fixer" and "depressor".

There are plenty of real-life examples from workshop participants that explain how others applied the concepts and what they struggled with.

The practices may appear simple, I truly believe that the effects can be far-reaching.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 10 May 2013
By Greg - Published on Amazon.com

Mind and Body Bridging is an excellent way to assist clients in believing in therapy. I recommend this approach to all therapist both beginner and advance. Clients actually get the opportunity to see that when we live in the here and now we not only feel better, but also achieve honest answers and better solutions. I am a gestalt therapist and this approach really does introduce the effectiveness of awareness in the here and now.
