This album is superb. Bone crunching riffs, superb lead breaks, incredible drums & bass, excellent vocals and keyboards. This album has it all, from the opening riffs of A Desolate Kingdom through the voiced over Eternal Memories, the incredible The Colourless Sunrise with its light and heavy moments, a beautiful ballad in Visions, to the superb tour de force of Hunting Poseidon. Call this technical metal, call it progressive metal, call it what you will, but this album puts many seasoned bands to shame, as far from being generic which so many bands seem content to be, this album is like a breath of fresh air because it does not sound like anyone else. In a genre full of rubbish grunting and soulless guitar playing and thinking that making a huge noise classifies as metal or rock, Prospekt really stand out as different. This band deserve to be huge and if a second album can be as good as this, then hopefully they will get there. For me, this album is the best metal album of 2013, just pipping Edens Curse Symphony of Sin, Withems the Point Of You and Sabbaths 13 which are all worth checking out. A rare Prospekt indeed!!
