The sand has a plastercine type consistency and is easy to manipulate with your hands. It is not messy and doesn't stick to your hands or to the surface (counter top or table). Really nice for young children to play with. It makes an instant shape from the mould and pops out of the mould with ease. It can be reused making it an economical toy for children to spend hours creating and recreating different shapes.
It would make a lovely present for a child and when children get bored with playing with the sand provided, the moulds could be used for other mediums such as polymer clay, plastercine, putty or even beach sand or glycerine soap.
Very nice item and well presented in a colourful box.
I have added photographs for your convenience.

Inside the box you get three small blue plastic moulds, three packets of play sand in small plastic bags in pink, green and yellow, and a small plastic tray in which you keep the sand when not in use. You get 450g of sand in total which is not a huge amount but perfect for the size of the moulds.
I put newspaper down on my table before using this sand to make sure that the sand did not ruin my table or carpet, then let my daughter play to her heart’s content.
The sand is a nice thick texture and slightly clumpy but this allows you to mould it together – like wet sand. It also nicely fills the moulds and keeps its shape when the moulds are removed.
The sand quickly becomes mixed as my daughter plays with it and ends up a slightly pastely brown colour but my daughter did not seem to mind at all, it certainly didn’t affect the use of it.
I was offered this product at a discounted price in return for my honest review. Overall I think that this is a good set of play sand. It would have been nice to have seen some other utensils too though, but for less than £10 I would say that it is just right.
The sand is quite interesting... it's not quite wet yet it sticks and moulds pretty well. You get a little sand pit to play in but children aren't able to contain the sand in this and it ends up on the floor which you'll end up vacuuming and therefore less and less sand. Once the sand is mixed, you're not going to be able to separate them again.. this frustrated my daughter who wanted to start again with 3 bags of different colours.
It is great fun for kids, my daughter loved it but I can't see it lasting too long!
This isn't like your normal sand either - it's super-squishy, sticks together, doesn't dry out and is very easy to mould. It is made from grated sand and limestone and therefore consists of pure natural materials which leaves no residue anywhere.
You get within the box 3x bags of Play Sand plus 3 x moulds overall this is a great set and I would highly recommend it.
Please note I received this in exchange for a honest review and this has not biased my opinion in any way.
The packaging it comes in is nice, though I did notice that everything in the box could easily have fit into something less than half the size. I am not a big fan of boxes too big for the contents, but at least the box looks nice, something moving about inside it will make it more exciting before unwrapping it as a gift, and so it's not all bad.
Inside are the three different colours of sand and some moulds to play with, moulds that could of course just as easily be used with regular sand or other things.
The play sand doesn't really feel like sand, but like a cross between saw dust and plasticine, not an entirely unpleasant feeling, really, and they are easy to work with, crumbling like sand sometimes, and sticking together like plasticine when you compress them properly.
Using one of the moulds, the shape held rather well, though it did collapse a little bit on one of the ridges on the side. Still, an impressive result, I think, for something like this.
After using it, there was a little bit of sand dust that I'd not managed to get back in the bag, but whatever causes the sand to stick together doesn't feel as if it leaves any residue on neither hands or work surface. Another good result, I think.
Had I still been a child, I would have thought this was great fun – well, I still think it's great fun, to be honest. It is something that has a lot of potential for creativity while avoiding being too messy.
