Using these inks will dramatically reduce the price of each print. Based on current and previous Canon printers I have used this brand in, they won't clog the printer and they will work perfectly. Bear in mind I use my printers frequently, several prints a day, if you are only making one print a week or less then perhaps you may need more frequent cleaning - ink jets don't like to be left standing for weeks on end.
Follow the instructions on the pack about the order of seal removal. Have a piece of kitchen roll to had to wipe any drips off before inserting - these are full cartridges and if they are left where it's hot the ink will expand (and unsurprisingly black ones are more prone to this) - put them in cleanly and quickly.
I was hesitant about buying third-party inks since a bad experience at Cartridge Direct many years ago, so I have stuck with manufacturers' inks for decades. However a full set of Canon XL inks are about £50, and that is *way* too rich for my tastes.
So I did some research, and found a major study of 3rd-party inks from 2008. The study concluded that 3rd-party inks were, on average, as good as OEM inks, with some being worse, and some being a little better. The one issue some third-party inks were likely to perform poorly on was longevity, with some fading unacceptably after exposure to high levels of UV used in the tests to simulate time, but some third-party inks actually lasted better than OEM inks. The conclusion was that there was no necessity to by OEM inks. I also saw some claims that forums and reviews were seeded with dire warning about the perils of using third party inks: Claims that they would "ruin" printers beyond repair, leak everywhere, and give poor results. Anyway, I chose these inks as they had a high proportion of positive reviews and the few 1* reviews warning of fire, famine and pestilence as a result of using these inks were not unexpected.
