Product Description

Review

"... a contribution to applied entomological literature, and should be well received by those interested in deciduous fruit tree pest control. ... a commendable job of balancing technical detail with practical control needs, admirably describing our most important fruit pests ..." (Bulletin of the Entomological Society of America)

"This book should be in the library of every fruit farmer and amateur enthusiast." (Growth)

"The choice of illustrations is really good. Most pests and, if appropriate, the symptoms are show in colour. Line drawings are added mostly to illustrate minute structures and tiny species. A look at these pictures is often enough to arrive at the correct identification while the text may serve as a check ... warmly recommended ..." (Plant Pathology)

I love this book. It is old now and, although a modern edition has been published recently, this book is still exceptional for pest identification. This is as good as a photo guide, with numerous photographs throughout. The only complaint I would have is that the suggestions for "control" are now out of date, with some chemicals recommended in the book no longer approved for use in the UK.
