There are various things to like about this book. First, there are many good micrographs, and they are well-labelled. The colour art is often very good, but some of the plates look like very hasty work and some are very sketchy, as if the artist does not really know what he is supposed to be drawing. For a book in its Fifth edition you'd have thought they would have corrected some of the terminological slip-ups, but no.
The index is inaccurate. Also, we wonder why the male pudenda are treated in much more detail than the female counterparts---perhaps because the ovaries and the menstrual cycle take up so much space?
For this kind of money you would expect a better book than this.
